  1. Past hour
  2. What’s the point of making a watch THIS close to the city but not going all the way? The line is heading in that general direction; they’ll just add it later
  3. It often falls apart around Allentown and Scranton, as was the case today. That's what was noteworthy of the line on Saturday evening - that it actually held together, which has been uncommon in the current long term pattern.
  4. Tons of power outages over here, but locally only had 30-40 mph gusts with about 5 minutes of heavy rain. No thunder here. Considering we were at 88/73° I’m surprised everything fell apart as it did. Eyes turn to the MCS over northern Missouri tonight. If that stays tame and south, tomorrow will be rocking around here. If it blows up and feeds off the nocturnal LLJ tonight and we end up with 2-3 hours of rain then tomorrow will end up a lot like today.
  5. Poor Patrick Ewing had to deal with the Bulls during his whole career lol.
  6. This is the banter thread so here's some banter There are some things in life that are difficult to do yet one must do them. Things that, no matter how painful, no matter how difficult of a decision, yet one must gather up the strength of ones heart and mind and do them. This is my torture, my pain, and my confession that yes, I must root for the Knicks in this series. After decades and decades of absolute hatred of them and especially their fans I must, I cant help it. I would root for the Bull's before the Knicks even though they probably killed us more with MJ than the Knicks ever have...but, it's those damn Knicks fans. Spike Lee snapping his towel at Reggie, McEnroe "accidently" spilling his drink onto the court during a crucial fast break, Spikes (joking) KKK comment when the Knicks came to Indy in one of the playoff meetings (I laughed right along with him lol), Ben Stiller getting all manly in your face to whatever Pacer was 15 feet from him (how can that guy even think he's intimidating lol?). I was at one Pacer/Knicks playoff game in Indy and KNICKS FAN was sitting next to me. He laughingly told me we weren't bad for an "ABA" team. I told him they weren't bad for a team that could've had Dr. J for FREE (had to educate that young man lol). Yet I must root for them and as much as I hate to say it, it is because of their fans. They deserve it. As long as it's been, I get it more than most. I know what it's like to have that golden ring of a championship within your reach, only for fate (or the Pacers in their case ) to take it. So I'm here to confess I've been rooting for the Knicks (damn that hurts every time I say it) to take the Western Team (their balls don't count) in 7. Oh and Wu Tang will be the half time show tonight so there's that (The Pacers will be back with a huge chip next year, look out!) Confession off
  7. Yesterday
  8. Maybe something related to a -AMO phase is trying to take hold as @snowman19 has mentioned several times. Hard to say if it's that or persistent +NAO/AO.
  9. PDO trending in the wrong direction at this time.
  10. We’ve needed and run AC 8-10 days/ nights since that Napril furnaced 4 days that kicked off summer . Dew was 71 most of this afternoon
  11. not bad... .48 on the day and .41 from this afternoon storm.
  12. Yeah. I lived in the Burlington area back in the early 2000s and was blown away how cloudy it was up there. Its been like 10 straight days of sun here on the CT shoreline. My solar panels have been absolutely cranking in production efficiency.
  13. This thing moved in very quickly. Temps dropped into the 60s here, so this thing is probably developing a cold pool. Had a nice burst of 50mph winds and continuous lightning.
  14. A period of above normal temperatures is developing. The temperature will likely top out in the upper 80s to lower 90s tomorrow through Saturday. Parts of the region could experience a heatwave during the second half of the week. Humidity levels could make the heat particularly uncomfortable. In addition, strong to severe thunderstorms could develop tomorrow and again on Friday. Sunday will remain very warm with highs mainly in the upper 80s. Cooler weather will return for at least the first half of next week. Some rain is also likely early next week, but rainfall amounts could be fairly light. The ENSO Region 1+2 anomaly was +2.6°C and the Region 3.4 anomaly was +1.3°C for the week centered around June 3. For the past six weeks, the ENSO Region 1+2 anomaly has averaged +1.95°C and the ENSO Region 3.4 anomaly has averaged +0.98°C. The ongoing El Niño will continue to strengthen through the summer. The SOI was -5.69 today. The preliminary Arctic Oscillation (AO) was +0.630 today. Based on sensitivity analysis applied to the latest guidance, there is an implied near 80% probability that New York City will have a warmer than normal June (1991-2020 normal). June will likely finish with a mean temperature near 74.9 (2.9° above normal). That would make June 2026 the fifth warmest June on record. Supplemental Information: The projected mean would be 3.5° above the 1981-2010 normal monthly value.
  15. I am watering my front lawn, it just seems rain falls apart in the spring and summer as it moves east across NYC toward Long Island.
  16. Just over an inch of welcome rain this afternoon. Good thing I heavily watered the garden this morning lol.
  17. High was 81 here today. Down to 71 now. No need to install yet.
  18. I finally got to see a thunderstorm with some good lightning while visiting my parents in northern Calvert. Prince Frederick got a flush hit with the Mesonet station there recording 1.19 but my place (blue dot) was just outside of it. So close though!
  19. 79° / 69° the breeze feels nice. Going to give it another night without an install. Window fan should suffice.
  20. How we feeling about things out west chicago gang
