  1. Past hour
  2. Wind shift incoming for KBOS. Looks like the new airmass is coming in from the southern boundary rising northward. Because of this I don’t think Logan will see a massive spike like it would if the coastal boundary broke earlier, but 92 could be challenged with the incoming SW winds
  3. This is going to be unpopular, but cutting down trees to make room for solar panels should be outlawed. Unless they are impeding on your house and possible storm damage. I drive through Maine and see acres of clear cuts for panels. Its gross. On top of commercial buildings, land fills, desert or other wastelands, fine.
  4. My next door neighbor had panels installed Oct 2025....took till late May of this year for them to finally work I enjoy chasing off the door to door solar power scum reps....I love when they mutter something and I ask them to repeat what they just said but to say it louder lol....
  5. DCA: +2.0 NYC: +3.3 BOS: +3.5 ORD: +2.5 ATL: +2.0 IAH: +2.0 DEN: +2.5 PHX: +2.0 SEA: +1.6
  6. similar driving around MHT this afternoon. a couple areas hit 99 on the car thermo, but low to mid 90’s in others
  7. Lots of interesting and nuanced things to consider for sure. I appreciate the perspective on this.
  8. ....owning the panels seems good but down the road you are going to be a contractor's dream come true I know someone who owns the panels on his home. A couple of years ago he put the home up for sale...one slight problem lol....the roof was 28 years old. Every offer he received had a contingency of wanting the panels removed because the prospective buyers did not want to deal with the hassle/cost of having them removed to have a new roof put on the home.. he still owns the home..
  9. I have never seen this grid show this many back to back periods > 30C at BOS (left) LGA (right) 24000485024 01493 112610 81 34 2617 24000503712 -2793 142307 81 34 2620 30000464213 -1694 102715 82 34 2617 30000483314 -1193 122510 83 35 2720 36000635017 -2394 112815 80 30 2517 36000584113 00493 133013 81 32 2619 42000736850 02293 122910 77 28 2316 42000644516 00395 153008 79 30 2416 48000423036 01099 102811 79 33 2416 48000413519 00996 132910 81 34 2617 That's a 2AM 30 C at LGA (right) ... 28 at Logan's negotiable, too. But Jesus... that's 90 overnight in Lower Manhattan ... and almost that at Gov. Center. This is the hottest multi interval aggregate I've ever seen on this NAM grid... I shall miss this product when it finally leaves us later this summer - is that still happening?
  10. I’m working the brewery tonight so I’ll update the standings when I get home after the game.
  11. Yeah. And I thought today was not to be this hot. It is hard to breathe outside. This is the heat that I can do without.
  12. Just finished walking the pup... around the block and a brief interlude into Carpenter's Woods. I am absolutely soaked.
  13. Heat Index is currently 111. I wonder if we get can below 100 by say, 8pm? Is that too much to ask?
  14. For sure. I did okay today but I think I’m going to get beat up over the next few days. I think I’m too low everywhere.
  15. Facebook certainly has a warped sense of humor. Look at this ad that showed up in my feed just now...
  16. 99.4 was my max thank God dewpoint is only 69 Sent from my SM-S731U using Tapatalk
  17. A short but severe heatwave will engulf the region into the start of the weekend. Already, parts of the region have experienced temperatures in the 90s. Throught 5 pm, highs included: Albany: 94° Allentown: 97° Baltimore: 97° Boston: 92° Burlington: 93° Cleveland: 97° (old record: 95°, 1941 and 2002) Concord: 95° Detroit: 97° Harrisburg: 98° Hartford: 95° New York City: 93° Newark: 99° Philadelphia: 96° Poughkeepsie: 98° Reading: 99° Sterling: 97° (old record: 96°, 2012) Toledo: 99° (old record: 98°, 1931) Toronto: 97° Washington, DC: 96° White Plains: 93° Wilmington, DE: 96° At its height, the heat could rival that of early July 1966. Much of the region will likely experience its highest temperatures so this summer with maximum temperatures peaking in the 100°-105° range. Some locally hotter temperatures are possible. Most of the Mid-Atlantic and southern New England areas will see temperatures reach 100° or above during the height of the heatwave. Boston, Burlington, Philadelphia and Washington, DC could challenge their all-time records. The ENSO Region 1+2 anomaly was +3.1°C and the Region 3.4 anomaly was +1.8°C for the week centered around June 24. For the past six weeks, the ENSO Region 1+2 anomaly has averaged +2.60°C and the ENSO Region 3.4 anomaly has averaged +1.37°C. The ongoing El Niño will continue to strengthen through the summer. The SOI was +1.11 today. The preliminary Arctic Oscillation (AO) was +1.312 today.
  18. My station and the ones on my block were 98 today. One of my stations got to 100, but it runs warm. Im going with 98. Glad to be in the "cool" Aruba weather lol
  19. Man, just stopped for soft serve to cool off a bit and the struggle was real. Freakin thing was getting killed in the heat, probably the fastest cone I ever ate.
  20. I understand that we're all different and all like/enjoy different things. I really do. My "thing" about this...when it's cold, you have more options. Stay inside if you want to be warm. Need to go out? Bundle up for warmth and protection. But with this weather? What are we supposed to do when we have to be outside? There are no good remedies. The only option is to suffer.
  21. I'll test that out on the car thermometer tomorrow as the wife and I head up to @alex's neck of the woods for a couple days while the kids roast on the coast.
  22. Looks like 96.3 is going to be the high for today here.
