  2. Outside this morning. Just beautiful!
  3. 26 degrees. Very small coating of freezing rain. Predominately sleet. GSP
  4. kinda meh over here; was ripping very early but rather light for the last 45 mins or so. gonna need to pick up the pace considerably to make it to 6. most mets calling for 8-12 here, we'll see. bitter cold out; managed to get my walk in the mall; just me, the guard, the cleaners, a couple cops hanging out under the parking deck, and a few homeless taking shelter in the mall, with no one giving them any grief on a day like this. i'd say about 3 and change otg so far; roads are empty so easy drive and not too bad at all. visibility was excellent.
  5. Should be reaching the ground at BOX soon as the donut hole closes around the radar site.
  6. One of my neighbors in Arlington VA came out immediately after the changeover and started shoveling. Some snow DID get scraped off my Hill of Doom, BUT with the sleet, and freezing rain potential, the street might get up to its old tricks again.
  7. Yeah. Kudos to them on this. I’ll probably end up with 2” of pixie dust. As forecasted. They were fairly consistent on this despite the razor thin cut off bi secting the metro.
  8. It is beyond frustrating watching it sleet at 13 degrees.
  9. Been out sledding with the kids in a 21 degree sleet bomb, this has been really fun.
  10. Just measured 4". 1" new in last hour. Heavy snow beginning right now. +4.3F
  11. Interesting. Looks like the habit started dendritic and then somewhat transitioned to sectored plates on the branching.
  12. Just spent about two hours enjoying the weather. It has been a battle between sleet and snow that whole time. Currently more of just a real pixie type snow than actual sleet. Just about 5.5 inches when I shoveled the driveway. Still accumulating though.
  13. Wow! That’s quite a bit of ice for you, @Met1985 . Very atypical, I would imagine. .
  14. The NAM and GFS seem okay on Pivotal, but the UKMET seems wrong. It keeps adding snow after the mix line moves well north. The ECM-AI is also obviously way too widespread with snow accumulations but I think that's due to lack of vertical resolution. A few other models might be off on Pivotal too - it's model by model.
  15. 12z hrrr still insistent on a foot in nyc and parts of li
  16. 11 / 8 - snow (about 2.9 on the ground). Cold / snow / mix later. Cold - frigid week with overall cold below - much below avg. Some moderation between 2/3 - 2/6 before cold returns. If the 1994 like pattern continues - would expect another bout of snow/ice in the next 7-9 days.
  17. 3.5 - 4 Howell nj thing some of the warmer models are going to bust low. Let’s see
  18. Pingers in Clarksville. Measured 6", which is probably a little compacted
  19. All sleet now aa rates lightened up. That last band was legit, dropped another inch in a an hour even with low ratios/mix.
