  1. Past hour
  2. Soundings for Guilford county, just north, and just south. Truly could go either way at this point
  3. You look to be in the best position of almost anybody in the forum to see some decent accumulations before it peters out.
  4. Snow days are made up so if it’s risky, just close. Who cares if the school day is December 5 or June 5?
  5. I hope you need a snow plow to get to the hospital
  6. Here you go Weatherwiz .... we were discussing this squall potential earlier in the week ..well, good call I guess. Them be s-squall warning boxes https://radar.weather.gov/station/kenx/standard
  7. Congratulations!!! I hope that you’re naming him Chuck.
  8. Congrats and good luck! My sister was born during the 2002-2003 winter (or the "one where it snowed a lot" as they call it) and my parents have similar stories. I'll try to be the intern filling in for your absence posting wise!
  9. Congrats! My son was born in the middle of the March 3rd 2014 storm! Born at the house.
  10. Its only December 4th - our break will come soon enough - first chance early next week- for some reason here in north middlesex county nj they are spraying the roads with that liquid brine crap or whatever you call it again - never can be too careful I guess those water temps are causing the lower level to still produce liquid even with the upper levels cold enough for frozen close to the coast
  11. IAD got down to 21F this morning. Coldest so far.
  12. Congrats!! Eat his shoes they're smaller
  13. There looks to be some snow moving by to my south right now.
  14. Congrats! How soon until you read him the forum for story time?
  15. Belleayre today. Best start to season in years! Weve got cold, we are in the game!
  16. People already out ice fishing, I have bait dealers calling me for bait bags already, Wasn't until January last year.
  17. I think this is a great point - social science is really going to be a factor here. Tomorrow's decision will be made with Tuesday's decision fresh in their minds, and they'll absolutely be scared to death of another delay or closing that ends up not needed. And it seems like a 2h delay wouldn't accomplish much tomorrow, as it will be cold and snowing 2 hours later. It's probably either a "normal day" or "closure" decision.
  18. My baby son is due tomorrow morning, so it may very well be that we'll be driving through the snow on slippery roads to get to the hospital. It won't take much snow to make the roads dicey especially with cold temperatures overnight. Fortunately it's only a 10 minute drive and we'll give ourselves extra time to get there. Will probably be busy over the next couple of weeks, but I'll try to pop in here if there's something else to track. May it snow tomorrow and everyone gets at least 1"!
  19. It is undeniable that our climate has changed significantly in the last few years. But it is also true that weather is weird and remains super hard to predict especially outside of 5 days. Winter ends in March last I checked. If you are already dooming about Winter this hobby is probably not for you. There will be tough trends and good luck. That's the fun of it!
