Mount Pocono at 93 is crazy, how close is that to their all time high?
-
This is up there with the gulf coast Houston to Lake Charles heat all day. I know it when I feel it. It's awesome!
-
you never would have made it through that 1944 or 1953 super heatwave or even the 1993 one lol
-
highest for me since moving up here but I dealt with far higher heat indexes and temps down in South Carolina
-
I think those would be all time records for BDL and HFD (a tie with 2011 for HFD)?
-
sitting out for a half-hour in carhartts and two layers/flannel, whew! breathaking in the best way possible! Going back out, so perfect outside
-
12z runs are similar progression 2-3 with the 4th dry/warm on the euro and warm with storms on the GFS. 5-6 is hot/humid on both. 260 hours to go.

Good grief!! DP is up to 82!! HI is 118. At 7:33 the HI was 121 degrees!
-
It’s still 86 and somehow and I can’t believe it..79 with the dews. I’ve never seen it that high this early in the season. This is some historic stuff we’re witnessing all around. Even my cat isn’t venturing far from the safety of the back porch and that little dude is borderline feral lol.

Several records set or tied today, including Cleveland, Detroit, Toledo, Saginaw, and Mansfield. The 96F reading at Saginaw was the warmest of any day in the past 13 years. Alpena set a new daily record high of 97F. If it stays at or above 79F through midnight local time, it will set a new all-time record high minimum & the daily mean (average of high and low) would be the second highest in the threaded record behind 88.5F on August 25, 1948.

You better get used to these dews baby. We’re taking this party boat all the way to Christmas and back! The fun is just getting started.

H2O needs to make sure the H2O’s have the right number of H’s and O’s…getting chilly now, only 94!
-
What a fantastic evening outside, great breeze, temps creep in down into the mid 80’s……Summah
-
High of 100 right on the nose, with a DP high of 78. Stifling.
-
ya that didn't happen today or tomorrow.. I'll get back to it Wednesday or Thursday

It seems to have lingered from the winter and spring with the record westerly winds that caused all the upwelling. But the current cool spot is much smaller than it was. Though the local SSTs are still a bit below average for this time of year.

I’m dressed like an official. I worked for the water company. The water needs checking. It’s legit

It's a Davis vantage pro 2, so yes, aspirated and radiation shield. But the issue is the siting sucks, scientifically speaking. In order to provide physical security at UMass we elected to put it on the edge a low rooftop. It's not black tar, but it runs a little hot from the surroundings, and UMass is a pit as it is. https://weather.cs.umass.edu/
