  1. Past hour
  2. Wow. Here I lose power maybe once every 2 or 3 years on average.
  3. Looks like possible hot wx starting this weekend. Winds are forecast to be SW, and if so, then it will get rather warm, even here imby. Shoreline will stay a little cooler unless the wind is WSW. SW winds along the shoreline clip the Lake, but a slight W direction keeps it a fully land breeze. Down sloping may jump temps even higher than forecast.
  4. Almost the exact same here in Del Ray. Had a few flashes and a strike within a mile, and what sounded like a positive strike also nearby. Now just need 3 or 4 more of these (we were sitting at under .5 here for the month).
  5. It's definitely happening. That big storm has its eyes on Calvert. Was out taking care of caterpillars and tons of thunder and the humidity can be cut with a knife. Gonna be a drought buster for sure.
  6. Beautiful day with highs peaking now in the upper 70's/low 80's across the area.
  7. Kinda got missed, but still over 0.3” and a bit more to come. Won’t complain (too much) since HoCo has been lucky compared to others.
  8. Radar was lit to the west earlier this afternoon and it looked impossible to miss out on a ton of rain but the cells all fell apart on my doorstep and the stuff to the west is dying.
  9. Lone cell trekking east on 101. Let’s see what it does as it approaches NH Seacoast machine.
  10. I've been hit by several thunderstorms in the past 90 minutes. Radar is blossoming right overhead and I'm hearing lots of thunder again to my west. Looks like a classic stormy evening. LFG!
  11. Happy with 0.70”+ of rain. Still no thunderstorms this year.
  12. An inch? 3 stations in that area are all just under a 1/4”
  13. Lightning's jumping around in the anville, far from any robust echoes.
  14. Line moving through up here. Was surprised after that storm that raked the atmosphere earlier. Some thunder and it is raining. Will probably push me close to 4” for the day. Will wait to see what the ending will be.
  15. 1.30 for today. Over 3 inches for the month so far.
  16. Anyways, I think it's squash and watermelon, something in th cucurbits family hard to tell when i'm driving.
  17. I was going to stop and snap some pictures out here in the Williams Grove area, because they grow several different types of produce, but the weather did not allow as I was driving through. Out here, the crops don't look too bad, but everything's irrigated. The corn on the edge of the fields that's not reached by the irrigation is stressed to the point where it will never produce a very viable crop. I'd imagine some of the unirrigated cornfields, look a lot like the edge of the cornfields out here in williams grove. Cabbage pumpkins, squash, watermelon all looks pretty decent out here.
  18. Yikes that hook on that Stafford storm as it heads towards, gulp, Charles County
  19. Today
  20. I need about 2 days of off and on 5" an hour rates with a little thunder and then I think my lawn can be resurrected. Nice little shower but too far in between this summer.
  21. Pouring near the Vienna Metro station. Waiting in a tunnel for the rain to slack off so I can finish my walk home without having to put all my clothes in the dryer immediately.
  22. Thunder increasing to my west and southwest. Hopefully strengthening a bit for some good lightning.
  23. Yeah, went out, and within 3 minutes the internet was back on and unfortunately back working haha. After losing power a few times over the years and getting water in the basement because of that, we went for it. My area does seem to lose power at least 10x a year it seems.
  24. 0.31” today imby as of 4:30pm. 3.24” so far in July.
