  1. Past hour
  2. Nice pictures! That plant isn’t ready for harvest yet though…. Unless I’m just not seeing the red pistils.
  3. I have never seen the river so low around here. This is the Green River down the street from my house. Even in a dry spell, where I’m standing to take this picture should be knee-deep.
  4. Harvest time. Absolute perfect weather. Had an unreal dry COC week in Florida
  5. More gentile rolling thunder and light rain making my evening. Very peaceful. Perfect Saturday evening to lounge in the screen porch with a book and a beer (or 4) just listening to the rain and thunder. The remaining hummingbirds have been fueling up at my feeder for their journey south. The lake has some decent waves today too (beach hazard statement just expired) after being pretty quiet lately. Great wx day today and my boredom is cured now.
  6. Here is how the global blend I mentioned a while ago looks for September - 2013, 2018, 2022, 2024 minus 2007. Not half bad. Given that ACE is heavily favored to finish under 100 now, I'd go colder than the blend with -2007, especially Plains/Southwest.
  7. Jeez, those mid-20s dews in your area.
  8. Yeah, it’s tough when the result is this
  9. Some areas down this way have been getting crushed with rain the last couple hours. Surprised not to see any posts from our Chalk Hill poster.
  10. I’m up in Acadia. Surprised how much warmer it is here than back home, and the foliage has barely started changing while at home it’s gotten quite bright
  11. Looking at the prints closer, it definitely checked the cleanout door and window area by hanging off the roof. All doors have a carabiner, and now the window does too. The coop itself has an automatic door on a timer, so all around they're safe. Hopefully it doesn't stress em too much. I'm gonna grab one of those cameras, thanks.
  12. Today
  13. Dew is down to 24.. annual frost pic in the morning?
  14. We were going to have a fire pit this evening (Solo stove) but I ain't risking it.
  15. I haven't mowed since July. A neighbor was using his rider mower this afternoon (leaves?) and it was making a huge dust cloud
  16. Rain is light but it’s thundering which is all I ever really need.
  17. Still breezy here. I love these fake nights . The fake spots get cold and get excited. While we grow and stay warm
  18. Yeah maybe I’ll tickle near 50. But even a N wind here is off the water and keeps it a tad warmer. Grass finally looking good again so hopefully plenty of mild frostless days to come. Need time to appreciate it before it dies.
  19. Temperatures will top out mainly in the lower 70s tomorrow and Monday. It will then turn noticeably warmer on Tuesday before another cool front crosses the region on Wednesday. Highs on Tuesday will likely reach the lower 80s with some middle 80s in the warmer spots. The advancing front could trigger some showers or thundershowers. Some additional rain is possible Thursday into Saturday as a low moves along the frontal boundary. Ensemble support for a significant rainfall is low. The ENSO Region 1+2 anomaly was -0.2°C and the Region 3.4 anomaly was -0.5°C for the week centered around September 10. For the past six weeks, the ENSO Region 1+2 anomaly has averaged +0.10°C and the ENSO Region 3.4 anomaly has averaged -0.37°C. La Niña conditions will likely develop during mid- or late-autumn. The SOI was -2.85 today. The preliminary Arctic Oscillation (AO) was -0.403 today. Based on sensitivity analysis applied to the latest guidance, there is an implied near 58% probability that New York City will have a cooler than normal September (1991-2020 normal). September will likely finish with a mean temperature near 68.9° (0.3° below normal). Supplemental Information: The projected mean would be 0.9° above the 1981-2010 normal monthly value.
  20. We can take the over all the time except…in this pattern.
  21. Wonder if it’ll get under 50 here ? If it does it’ll be 47 ish
  22. Millionth stunner of a day in a row today. Did the some vehicle "hiking" up Mt. Kearsarge. Passed a (European, I think???) cyclist beginning the climb up the auto-road at the park-entrance gate. By the time I was "hiking" down the little half-mile trail that takes you to the actual summit, the man had already finished the climb and was actually going up the trail wearing clipless cycling shoes. When I made it back to the parking lot near the top, I noticed he had left his gravel bike leaning against the trail information stand unlocked and unattended. Not sure I would be ballsy enough to do that with a bike worth several grand.
  23. Probably a raccoon and I bet it will be back. It can smell them and I’d bet they made enough peeps from the roof walking so that it could hear them too. Just make sure that hardware cloth is very secure and that all doors are tight and preferably locked. They’re pretty good with their hands. I have one of those little Wyze cams aiming on the coop and run. It was only like $25 on Amazon.
