  2. I agree with this. Although its getting warmer everywhere on average, we’re also seeing a lot more variance with wavier jet streams and stronger ridges that act as a double edged sword - bringing extreme heat underneath, and pulling down colder air from the upper latitudes of the ridges. This is a well researched and documented artifact of AGW. If we get periods of -AO/-NAO during this super nino, they should be very interesting.
  3. Don’t laugh but it probably will happen. Enjoy the cirrus, Ira the only cirrus you got.
  4. Can’t wait to watch Newark get their 8th hurricane force wind gust, the NYC subway flooded for the 5th time , DXR have 2000 lightning strikes in 7 minutes and Seymour over 30” of rain from this next round of storms .

  6. If I understand what you are showing, the two pairs find a shift of -1.67 and -1.44 respectively for West Chester 2NW's April 1970's move. Averaging 12 station to station pairs before the move, and 16 after. It would be straightforward to identify the non-move segments of local stations, and use those to test the others iteratively, building up a timeline for all stations. Assuming all of the station moves are at HOMR or on the 530-1s, that would still leave the TOB changes. Coatesville 1 SW switched from 8 PM to 8 AM & 8 PM at the end of October 1921, effectively eliminating the double counting of daily highs, shifting the time series down by 1.4 deg F.
  7. Summers have been quiet overall. Except in Seymour CT.
  8. NWS screwed the pooch yesterday morning by putting zero pops for Fairfax County in the 4 a.m. forecast. I'm sure I'm not the only one who trusted them and left my umbrella home!

  11. If 7/15/1995 isn't on this list, I refuse to believe it's true. That was a very anomolous event. That is by far the highest dew point/heat index in most of the surrounding area.
  12. Congratulations!! I got a grand total of .02" for Thursday, August 6................. .30" total for the first 6 days of August. Where's the rain??? At Charlottesville. Over 4 inches for the first 6 days of August.

  21. At least could you see the FQT LTGIC DSNT NW last night from Weymouth?
  22. NYC just had their 2nd highest dew point of all-time at 79°. Probably some enhancement from being so close to the trees. As other stations weren’t quite as high.
