The “I bring the mojo” Jan 30-Feb 1 potential winter storm
SUNYGRAD replied to lilj4425's topic in Southeastern States
You guys are my kind of humor. -
We are currently in MJO phase 8 heading to phase 1, which is supposed to be "good" for east coast snow storms right?"
-
Send Jim Cantore to NC and scare the storm north.

I'm coming home tomorrow after 2 full weeks on the road. Great trip, will be even better to be back in my own bed. Shame though. I have no hope for this weekend. Our new friend the mouse has made it clear we need to move on. Well that settles that. -

Well the closed low in 1980 was about even with the southern tip of the Delmarva, I was actually in a weather forecast office during that event, the surface low looped around very close to Cape Hatteras, near the NC-VA border. The Blizzard of 1899 may never have been associated with a closed low on the other hand, it was a fairly close analogue to the March 1993 superstorm. I agree with your point that the synoptics are fairly extreme historically, whether once or twice equalled being irrelevant to the outcome. -
Yup

Tracks... some of us went to the Ebbitt for Snowpocalype and then went around from bar to bar taking measurements along the way. Fun times lol

You’re probably going to find a lot of similarities because there’s really own way for a subsume phase to happen… And they all carry the traits in common The standard analog is probably a higher percentage likeness than when they have to go out and find something that’s similar to something else unusual -
I believe so. Matt and Trix were the admins.
