  1. Past hour
  2. Have to watch for a coastal next week
  3. We have 11 other months of the year for rain. Maximize snow.
  4. Picked up .60" of precip so far, with a possibility of another .50 with that next line of storms coming. Really needed this rain. Chilly though.
  5. Yup. It's one of the highest points. I like that spot when there's not enough time to be climbing the peaks around Cunningham Falls. You can park and take a short hike to Salamander Rock. There's a cool old historic building up there. I caught a couple elevation events up there over the past couple of years. I was hoping to get up there today but it doesn't look like it's going to make much difference.
  6. Mine is 21 and I still struggle with that.
  7. Lol I was going to make a similar post but tried to stay positive for bunchos sake. Lots of posts for some gentle showers
  8. True but early January was touchy for many of us. I didn't get below freezing until the middle of the month where as Jan 2025 was brutal until the last week. I guess it all evened out.
  9. We definitely longtracked up to 0.5” of rain.
  10. Birds chirping like crazy here this AM in the fake cold.
  11. Oh and BTW, thanks @SnowenOutThere for starting this thread!! Really cool, and some amazing shots in here including yours. Photography is a serious hobby and big interest of mine, I'm curious what camera/lenses you use. The lunar eclipse is actually a bit tricky to get in a way...you need a long enough shutter because it's so much dimmer, and you also have to crank up the ISO a bit. But at least it's not fleeting so one has time to take several shots at various settings and hope a couple or so come out well! I ended up doing some noise reduction in post as well as boosting the red color a bit. Had to crop it too, though I did use a long telephoto for my shot. More recent cameras have gotten better about noise control at higher ISOs, until you get up to the really extreme values (which I have only used on very rare occasion).
  12. Is that up in the Watershed? I biked Skink to Salamander trail once. Skink was a hike a bike for me…gnarly rock garden.
  13. I gotta admire the HRRR absolutely insisting that we are going to pop into the mid-50s today in the face of every other piece of guidance keeping us locked into the low 40s. Going down with the ship is stupid, but honorable.
  14. We will have one last window the 2nd week of March.
  15. Another sub 20" season seems to be coming for Northern MD. 5 years in a row now for MBY. Worst stretch since records have been kept at hgr. (1899). Truly pathetic. I'll have to double check but my average the last 5 years has been 12" i believe. About 40% of climo.
  16. Last window still looking like the 2nd week of March
  17. I'm easy to please. If I can get in a couple mile walk under some mood flakes, it gets chalked up as a win in my book. Yesterday was the first day that my pack took a hard hit. I lost more snow yesterday than all the other days combined since the storm.
  18. Yesterday low of 24, high of 59. This morning low of 40. Looking at the extended forecast, No more 20's for a bit.
  19. Last window will be approx 2nd week of March. Have to get CPK to average snowfall at that point hopefully.
  20. When they’re on an island this close in, they’re likely wrong.
  21. Speaking of twitter…I was thinking how it’s been a tough winter for Fish to troll ACATT, but it’s nice to see him still trying
  22. Well +EPO is usually above. If the vortex over Alaska verifies, we will likely go warmer if not that day then the next few days. Here's the 6z GEFS
