  1. Past hour
  2. A few HPS lights on those babies and you'll be harvesting into Thanksgiving
  3. Our forecast is showing either a major front or backdoor front coming thru around the 8th or 9th. Low 80's before, low 70's after for about 5 days before warming up.
  4. What a beautiful 1st day of October. After a low of 58, we had a high of 76. Dew points in the upper 50's and a brisk NE wind made for a very nice fall day.
  5. They've been hitting the corn hard while it still has some green around here. I'd imagine its farmers trying to get a good price as the number of industrial drying silo's around here have been going up like crazy, maybe 2 or 3 every 5 sq miles. The commodities market for grain is bit volatile right now.
  6. Today
  7. Driest Aug/Sept combo in my records, beating 2015. So, that 100% means an all-timer blizzard this year, right?
  8. Well Don. Accu weather seems to agree with you. Stay Weill, as always ….
  9. We die. Third night in a row with frost? Dews were upper 20s until like an hour ago. Temps should drop fast. Has that crisp fall feel this evening.
  10. I’ve got a few with yellow flowers. So they’re still trying. But yeah.. sunlight is a big issue. They only get 2-3 hours max now vs 6-8 in summer . So growing much slower . I also aerated and overseeded large portion of lawn in early Septorcher.. so nothing like dragging sprinkler around in Octorcher . They also got the blight from the wet, humid summer so many of them I’ve been pulling limbs off since July

    Winter 2025-26

Finally! ……………… a photo of the PAC Jet. As always ……
  12. I'd say about 75% of the crops around here have been harvested already. One big plus of having no rain in a month is everything dried out nicely for the harvest.
  13. With the warm look next 4 weeks can certainly get into Early Nov
  14. Along with those 90° temps we're getting over the weekend. Grab your hose
  15. Usually it's not a factor of temps, it's the amount of sunlight they get each day. Tomatoes usually stop producing viable new by mid-october. Our peppers however have gone into early November, when we'll pick whatever is there; red, green, whatever, before the first hard freeze. We cover the plants if it's just going to be a light frost.
  16. months and months left on the hill. No freeze Novie?
  17. Best case? 24-25 Worst case? 22-23 Probably something in between.
  18. It wouldn't take much in terms of snowfall. I doubt that it will be as cold as last winter. My thinking early on for NYC: +1.0° to +1.5° and 15"-25" snowfall.
  19. Picked tomatoes and peppers today with more still growing/ ripening . With no cool in sight. Likely can go into Nov
