  1. Past hour
  2. that's my darling setup! Just a bit weak with 942mb and too far south! Looks late-season 1938ish though!
  3. 5 days later, has that misery look outside of a VERY cold anedecent airmass
  4. I've seen references in news clipping from the NJ coast, 4th or 5th worst tidal level since 2000... that's pretty serious in the past 25 years.
  5. Have to love this +PNA/-NAO.. it's a colder pattern if it were later in the year. And a corresponding trough in the Mid Atlantic a few days later.. the ensemble mean is nothing like the OP
  6. More from DT on the next few weeks & Siberia comments…
  7. Our friend DT is starting to look towards this upcoming Winter…
  8. There was a lot of low level E flow before and during that first wave of precip. I assume you’d have to be well into Jan to overcome that? A lot of the precip yesterday would’ve been low level stuff too…maybe saved by some salt nuclei? Of course there may have been a stronger high if it was winter as well. So I guess it’s all a moot point.
  9. Hi... I'm not going into details since time and my age 75 have lost a little of the edge. From Northeast Snowstorms V2 Kocin and Uccellini. Dec 10-12 1992 was huge... most of the interior higher northeast and New England. I was up in Marblehead... Mar 11-13 was the Eastern USA Superstorm Coast problems with most of the snow interior I95 westward. Also in Marblehead. The Newark Climate Data for Dec 1992 below describes what happened at Newark Airport... Inland colder and snowier. Coast winds, seas and tides were enormous Dec 10-12 while a snowstorm raged interior. Hope this helps
  10. Also featured the worst standing wave of subsidence in RI I have ever seen. Cory nearly did himself in.
  11. I have fond memories of Veterans Day 1987. I start my tracking around this time. Rare, but it can snow. I was at Univ. of MD in the bullseye.
  12. My kids both learned remotely and were fine. I think this is overblown
  13. One of my all-time favorite storms. I was in third grade at school. I was in Crownsville. I still remember the building shaking thunder and ripping snow. I got stuck at school most of the night. We had 13" in the lowlands. PG/AA County's jacked.
  14. This time of year is a bonus imo. I drive out to South Mountain or the Catoctins for the day. I like hiking around in the snow all day. Then I drive 1.5 hours back to the lowlands where it's 47 and rainy lol. It makes winter seem longer. I get it though. 3-4" during January followed by 60 degree weather is lame. I'll still take it though lol
  15. Yeah part of me wonders how ptype issues would translate. But a low that far south usually wouldn’t be bad 925-850.
  16. Wife had her car seat and steering wheel heater on this evening lol
  17. Change the 3-4ft to 3-4 inches of slop and knock everyone else down a category.
  18. Today
  19. I would have been porked, would be better at the old house.
  20. Hopefully enough for widespread first freeze at least.
  21. Never played football? And have you noticed our temperatures lately? I used to play a little football here or there when it was like 20 degrees outside with bare hands. Mid 40s is actually quite comfortable for exercise and sports.
  22. Scooter would die of happiness and ray would just walk into the sea...
  23. So the Sun rising at 4AM in summer is what's natural? We have so much artificial light that "what's natural" is meaningless. Just having the lights on, watching TV and being on your phone completely negates any benefit from having standard time year round. The only natural rhythm is the one of equatorial regions if we are going to go the evolutionary route.
