    When I lived in Charlotte these were the types of storms that modeled for the CLT area then ultimately verified NW towards either side of the apps. I think the last one was 2014 or 2015.

    I lurked for years in the Mid-Atlantic forum before coming back home to the southeast. Living in DC seeing the deform band destroy places north and west of where the models always pegged it, always frustrating. But given the power of this storm and frontogenesis likely created someone is going to jackpot a little north and west of where current guidance suggests.

    Jokes aside it’s a good sign we’ve had 2 cold winters in a row. Our struggles turning that into a lot of snow has more to do with the lack of STJ because…Nina, than anything else and cold dry wingers were always a thing going back 100 years. So glass half full maybe we are out of the main issue that plagued us from 2017-2024 and we just haven’t had a snowy winter yet (and I’ve not given up on this one yet we just need one flush hit and the pattern is far from hopeless).

    I would be more optimistic if I lived out on the island. For those of us in the NW crew, this one is over and I’m fine with it. I had 20” on Sunday and 4 or 5 plowable snowfalls before that. Also my roof is happier.
