  1. Past hour
  2. I'm surprised one hasn't been issued for Middlesex. I'm up to 1.85" and it's still pouring. We're getting training with these downpours.
  3. At 308 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Plainfield, Summit, Clark, Union, Westfield, Rahway, Scotch Plains, Cranford, Roselle, Roselle Park, Berkeley Heights, New Providence, Kenilworth, Fanwood, Mountainside, Garwood and Springfield.
  4. 100*F is not going to happen today at DFW due to the poor mixing heights (dewpoints pooling into the low 70s). Even breaking the record high of 95*F seems questionable after temps so far topped out at 94*F before dipping back down to 90*F as of 2pm.
  5. Just fished the Monocacy last week and it was at about 2'. Currently at almost 13'. You gotta be a little off to try putting in a kayak. Point of rocks is set to crest at almost 23'. Been quite a while since we've had a good flush but unfortunate timing as the female smallmouth will abandon their beds in high flow.
  6. Getting very windy here now.
  7. Surprised, no flood advisories were issued Ahh one just issued for union
  8. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/45146544/rb-derrick-henry-agrees-two-year-30m-extension-ravens Congratulations Ravens fans
  9. But both of these remind me of the 80s and early 90s when we had a lot of hugger and suppressed tracks too. But we at least got to 20 inches of snowfall in most years (especially during the early and middle 80s) because of moderate 3-5 inch events. It was very windy back then too-- we used to have snow to rain followed by wind chill warnings and temperatures near 0 and wind chills down to -60 (I know they calculated it differently back then.) It was always either cold, windy and dry or wet and warm/mild lol.
  10. You'd think with the dust causing darker skies the temperature should have been less (like our darker skies during the Canadian wildfires a few years ago). In 1936 the skies got darkened over NYC like they were a few years ago when we had an AQI of 500 in June, do you think the AQI would have been even worse during the Dust Bowl era and if so why wouldn't the dust blocking the sun actually cause lower temperatures like it did a few years ago?
  11. Recent studies have found that if the natural Grasslands weren’t removed, then there wouldn’t have been a Dust Bowl. But a typical drier pattern that has occurred over intervals of time in the past. None of the previous drought patterns produced that type of heat. The record heat was a function of the desertification brought on by the the land use practices during that era.
  12. Yeah I saw ants swarming around my steps when I went to get the mail the other day, that reminded me to get started.
  13. Going to be a real bummer if we can’t tap into the volatile atmosphere tomorrow. 50/50 shot in S MI/N IN.
  14. Storm development in VA looks more widespread than hrrr and 3k NAM suggested. More like FV3.
  15. But it’s been a challenge to sustain a quality +PNA ridge with the overpowering Pacific Jet. In one scenario a piece of Pacific energy digs too much out West and pumps the Southeast Ridge causing a Great Lakes cutter storm track. The next repeating pattern has been the hugger storm track along I-78 to I-84 with too much energy out west pumping the Southeast Ridge just enough for a quick change from snow to rain. The 3rd common storm track has been too much energy coming into the Western US acting as a kicker trough suppressing lows to the south. So this fast Northern Stream of the Pacific Jet has been working against Benchmark storm tracks even with blocking patterns which used to produce KU events when we had daily -5 AO readings in the past Februaries.
  16. Good idea. Sprayed around the perimeter a few weeks ago for ants, but need to get something for the yard.
  17. Hit 74.3° an hour ago, now sitting at 71°- was only expecting upper 60's to near 70.
  18. Make sure you spray something to keep the bug population from coming inside your house too.
  19. moderate to heavy rain here now I hope this doesn't cause the bug population to explode, remind me to spray Bug Barrier when the sun comes out on Sunday, I spray it all around my property to keep the bugs out.
  20. Pouring in Union County.. nice banding coming off the ocean
  21. hm another day i was not prepared for the shear gorgeousness ... I thought for sure we'd be grunged in but the sun's been out since 10:30 more than not and it's clear to 75 now
  22. Yep same now
  23. Same here in eastern NYC, really coming down now.
  24. 2.17" and light rain after that downpour. Over 3" since yesterday. That's enough for the rain please. Won't be able to mow my lawn for a week. Need to drain the pool for the 2nd time today.
