  2. Mt Mitchell down to a beautiful 68 as well.
  3. 104 for LGA and 102 for JFK is wild. What’s the all time record high for LGA?
  4. Temp down to a more comfortable 82 currently. I consider myself very lucky looking around at the obs reports.
  5. 100.2 in my backyard in Williston, 3 miles south of Denton. Down to 97 now.
  6. 93F for my high here in the woods. That May heat was still hotter. But today felt amazing
  7. Pair of 97s at DTW and DET. Models overmodeled the UHI but still pretty impressive and the hottest temps in 7 years.
  8. There are three notable exceptions for the New York City area where 100° heat returned: 1949, 1953, and 1955.
  9. Yeah I find that kind of weird. I was expecting your area to torch.
  10. Elevation doesn't make that much of a difference, you aren't 5000 feet above the rest of the county.
  11. Uh oh Charles Town is currently 97/79. That makes it feel like 115 degrees. That reel feel is truly representative of places like south central Texas. Charles Town has been up to 103 degrees this afternoon. If that 79 dewpoint was in play at that time, the heat index may well have been in the middle to upper 120s. There is NO WAY it should be this hot in Charles Town, Not only are they too far north for this, they are too high up in elevation.
  12. Mine stopped working entirely at 99 degrees (and rising) lol. Replacement coming tomorrow. Every other surrounding station hit at least 100, so I’ll count it.
  13. From the porch, i'm laying mulch at today. Not sure how accurate it is.But it's definitely worse than yesterday.
  14. With the projected strength of this Niño, anything on our side is encouraging at this point!
  15. Hey Don S How many times since 1976 has DCA hit 102 or higher. im gonna guess 14
  16. Why are we bending over backward. The heat island is part of man made warming. It exists. It’s real and part of our warming world
  17. I told my wife & daughters that today would be like in January when the average high is 39, but we get a 55 degree day. They were not amused…lol!
  18. Of course not...even today only a 1.8 degree difference from the highest elevation station mine in East Nantmeal at 94.8 and West Grove in far Southern Chesco at 96.6
  19. 102 for the high today at MDT, which is 16 degrees above normal. We did Not beat the record of 104 set back in 1966.
