40/70 Benchmark replied to Stormchaserchuck1's topic in Weather Forecasting and Discussion
Nothing surprising there...gotta see what the monthly mean looks like. CFS should have a good idea in another 10 days or so. -
My forecast has 60s all week with rain

Overlapping forecast signal showing up near the start of October. A more traditional Nino ridge south of Hudson Bay developing. With the lingering mid-latitude ridge underneath. -
next door neighbor has a tree and bought over a bag the other night with about 20 of em. A pain to scrape all the seeds and separate the fruit from the skin.

0.74” of rain between both rounds yesterday, enjoy the weekend!! -
Something may be forming near the Azores: From 8AM TWO: Eastern Subtropical Atlantic: A trough of low pressure located several hundred miles southwest of the Azores is producing showers and thunderstorms that are showing some signs of organization. Environmental conditions appear marginally favorable for additional development over the next couple of days while the system moves slowly over the eastern portion of the Subtropical Atlantic. By early next week, environmental conditions are forecast to become less favorable for development. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...20 percent. * Formation chance through 7 days...low...30 percent.

About 10" below average...still would be tied for the 2nd most snow that I have had since 2017-2018. Take. That close to climo in a super El Nino likely includes a big fish.

Low of 69 with .63” of rain. A nicer airmass moving in this afternoon and another perfect night for high school football. -

not a beer recommendation, but the Franconia Ridge Loop would be an amazing hike if you are looking for the full monty and the weather cooperates. Park at or across from Lafayette campground (if you can), and hike up the Falling Waters Trail to the top of Little Haystack, follow the ridge above treeline north across Lincoln and on to Lafayette, then follow the Old Bridle Path down past AMC's Greenleaf Hut (refill water) and continue on to your car. Another option is Mt. Liberty which is nearby, the route to the summit follows the AT.

Looks like this could continue for a while too.

ACATT wanted to end the relentless torch we’ve been in. So you’re now left with a week + straight of rain and mild temps starting Sunday . Preparing us for a whole winter of the same thing with little to no snow -

Been seeing color all over parts of southeast Bergen County for the last week. My maple tree showing signs of red at the top.

It was a fun few months but we’re back to being the armpit of the nation’s weather. -
A 5 model blend now puts my rainfall at 2.11" for Monday - Wednesday. Just what the doctor orders. Hopefully, this will be the beginning of 6 months worth of moderate to heavy rainfall. Augusta has a 10 - 12" deficit to recover since August 2025.
