  1. Past hour
  2. Just popped into radar and am surprised at what I see. Will see if it maintains over the mountains. From my experience we usually get it when it comes up from the SW more than directly from the W.
  3. It all ebbs and flows... you get into ruts, or into great runs... up this way, we couldn't open until December last season. This season it is record breaking snow in mid-November. More snow on the ground now than there was during the entire 2015-2016 season in the mountains. The natural variation in weather patterns is pretty crazy year-to-year... and especially over decadal periods.
  4. Early returns on 0z snow a shift south and drier for NJ and points east. HRRR, RRFS, NAM, and RGEM show a similar trend. Converging on I-80 with a tenth or two of precip (regionally) in the snow-supporting column. Our "stuff" is still back in WPA. It may blossom into CPA over the next few hours.
  5. Also had some good November and December snows after that time too. November of ‘12, didn’t December of ‘13 have some frigid snows?, November of ‘18, December of ‘19(a real biggy for Ray), December of ‘20(a biggy here)..so we’ve had them.
  6. My point and click in Suffolk now says snow is likely tonight. Strange
  7. 33/28. It’s certainly cold enough to snow
  8. Today
  9. So... any thoughts on the Thursday/Friday precip event? Looks weird, more like a Spring type event with temps and upslope. With the recent warmth, might not be that impactful. But worth talking about since we've not had much to discuss in a long time.
  10. The best local Chinese food by far. It’s take out only, and has a drive through.
  11. Remember the glory days of 2002-2010….so many epic December events on the forums…Xmas 2002, Dec 5-7, 2003, 12/9/05 , 12/13/07, 12/11/08 (ice storm), etc
  12. I’m surprised how quiet this site has been regarding the cold and perhaps stormy December that’s being forecast. 1980’s cold. We are due. .
  13. I wonder if we can get some pingers tonight Sent from my SM-X210 using Tapatalk
  14. Yep, prepping us for winter already lol
  15. i don't think the mid-atlantic should expect to see anything until december 15. after that things look more favorable and it might be game on for us
  16. I've been searching for a new Chinese place since Ho Wah's departure. This I am excited for. Thank you!! Sent from my SM-G970U1 using Tapatalk
  17. I love the December pattern for us....mid Atlantic not as much.
  18. Nah, not SWFE. We usually do fine in those. Cutters is when we get wiped (SE winds). But while they do significantly cut down or destroy our snowpack, they’re usually followed by a few inches of snow anyways on the backside, so we actually do spend a significant amount of time with snow on trees. It’s one thing I really love about this area even though retention and overall depth is not great. From a visual perspective, it’s hard to beat (unless you’re at 2000 ft on Mansfield of course).
  19. One good SWFE and it’ll be 45° at HIE with 40mph SE winds.
  20. This was only the second time below freezing this year. First was for 6 hours (low of 30) and this was for 4 hours (29.8)
