  1. Past hour
  2. this is Golf Course Rd at the railroad tracks, just before the old Stone Bridge—i was there just 15 minutes before the storm hit:
  3. some pictures from Martinsburg in this thread: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1DK4c1tYvz/?mibextid=wwXIfr
  4. Go back to the satellite imagery and you’ll see all those fires ignited all at the same time. It’s not a coincidence it’s on purpose and it’s not by campers. .
  5. The El Nino is just stagnant over the Tropics right now? The cold season has much higher effects, but you typically do see some things now, or whenever a +2.4c ENSO event is happening, warm or cold season. That we've seen 7-0 N. Pacific ridges vs troughs since the El Nino officially began is somewhat of a leading indicator.. instead of your usual -120dm winter n. pacific anomaly, I'd say it's more likely to be around -30dm for the DJFM mean. Pacific vs Atlantic hurricane season has been El Nino so far.
  6. Wild, crazy storm that seems to be “training” over Marysville. Torrential rain, thunder, lightning, & light hail mixed in as well! Over 1.5 inches of rain in the last 30 minutes & counting. it looks like a river is running down the street!
  7. I'd consider a rain changing to a minor snow accumulation this December a victory. And that's coming from an eternal optimist.
  8. I not talking about effects now. I'm talking about how things go come October and November which would give a better clue than a few days at the end of August/early September. That was the original subject of my post.
  9. Just a light shower here in HBG lol - it’s missed the city mostly entirely. The lightning to the NW is epic
  10. Getting a heck of a light show down here from that Harrisburg area cluster.
  11. I was wondering what the hell that was. Miserable fuckers.
  12. Looks like @Blizzard of 93 is getting a very strong storm.
  13. Maybe a downburst signature right around North Potomac or a hair NE of there? Probably sub-severe at least at this second but seems to be intensifying
  14. Best show of the year in Gaithersburg. We had 4 hits that were on top of us and it is still going. Two may have hit my property it was so bright and close. Also saw green lightning. My 4yo even asked why it was so green.
  15. That's them. They are very small and intensely itch but it doesnt last long and doesnt leave a welt on most people. Different experience for those who have sensitive skin/ skin disorders.
  16. Maybe trying to cycle back up a bit - doubt it will get back to as intense as it was - but more lightning near Gaithersburg on the last update.
  17. Exactly, for a Nina Dec usually rocks, but this year with the Nino expecting warmer than normal temps. I like mid Jan to mid Feb as well. Have to see what the signs are as we enter late Fall regarding the potential for HL blocking over NA.,and what the source regions look like as well.
  18. Dude is trolling Canada after the tariffs. Most important position in the world and we have an unserious child troll running it. But yay liberal tears! So good!
  19. It's passive aggressive behavior for real. I personally like more language diversity in geography.
  20. Do these leave bite bumps? Something keeps eating my ass up outside, but it doesn't leave the telltale bumps. It stings a bit and itches for a bit.
  21. Only 4 days this month with a high of 90 or above, and just 2 days with a low of 70 or above. For July, those numbers are 6 days 90 or above and 6 days 70 or above. The rest of this month should close out without adding to either of those figures. I know other places were obviously warmer but those are pretty low numbers and far from some of the summers in the last 10-15 years.
