Funny, I wouldn't trade our forced air system for anything. I can't stand modern baseboard units, and any that actually don't look shit are $$$$$. Grated we did have someone come in and make some adjustments to the system when we purchased... many contractors are HACS and don't have the slightest knowledge how to properly balance a system. Also, having both heat and A/C in the same system is awesome

Have to say winds were very very loud for about 3 hrs. Euro nailed it.

No, I believe East Granby is different from the airport. I remember this coming up a long time ago. I don't exactly remember where, but believe it was near one of the schools. It's also kind of unfortunate that BDL is used for official measurements as it is regularly/generally the lowest accumulation for the area in any given average winter system... many times by many inches

Lost power very briefly earlier, sounded like my roof was going to fly.
-
3.04 in the gauge , winds cranked for an hour at least , no big damage but a ton branches down roads are littered with debris
-
Same here. Also had moderate white rain from Westfield through Granby
-
EWR 62 knots as well
-
Yeah looks like there were a couple of squalls that were able to mix some stronger winds down. But it wasn’t the all night rager like the mesos had. Quite a few 55kt gusts though…then of course the 63kt at JFK.

29 when I left the house. 1.63” of total liquid but still waiting for some encrusted sleet/snow to melt off the funnel of the gauge, will report back later. Probably going with .2” of snow/sleet as things were decently covered when I went to bed last night and it was still snowing. Nice little event and today should be a heck of a winter day. Curious to see how far east some squalls can make it later today. March, always a trip. -
Just went to cumberland farms branches down everywhere

2026-2027 El Nino
snowman19 replied to Stormchaserchuck1's topic in Weather Forecasting and Discussion
Eric Webb is gung ho on a super El Niño. All in. Even Paul Roundy is getting bullish on one. This should be an interesting one to see develop. One thing is for sure, regardless of strength, this one is at least going to develop as a very east-based/East Pacific event. The question then becomes does it stay east-based or go basin-wide? -
2.25 44⁰ winds over 50 last night
-
Somehow I got back into the flow overnight. I have light snow this morning with an additional inch overnight. Current temp is a cold 15 degrees.
-
Yeah I'm without power, pretty big area too.
- Today

28 degrees at 5:30 am, will probably drop another degree or 2 before sunrise. This blows. A forecast high of 48 with wind chills in the low 30's this afternoon. We usually have outdoor activities for st Pat's day downtown. I'll stay home. I already see black on the tips of just bloomed perennials. Wondering how much damage there will be to plants and such that bloomed already.

Strongest wind gust here was 55mph.

Pretty underwhelming. 1.26" rn, max gust 31. 54f Sent from my SM-S921U using Tapatalk

Not sure if it's wind (downed trees) or snow related, but 309 over the Blue Mountain has been closed all night. Trying to get a hold of my night shift truck partner to find out why. -
Don’t know exactly what wind gusts IMBY were but I wouldn’t doubt severe verifying level. Not sure I ever heard a thunder clap or saw lightning yesterday despite 2 STWs. Heard sleet on the window around 11-1130.
