I know memories get tainted by time and misremembering…but i swear i remember most years as a kid trick or treating, there being leaf piles for us to jump in while walking around the neighborhood. This year the color is definitely earlier than the last few and looks like it could be a really good year with the exception of the same blight rob mentioned in some of ours too.

Very likely a wet winter coming up, question is whether we can time cold enough air with any of the storms. If we can get halfway decent cold air here once in a while, odds are good we get pounded at least once.

I am back after a much needed vacation. Down to 44 here earlier this morning.

Hopefully we can displace the ridge so far south this winter that we can pull off a Nina-like gradient pattern overlaid onto that diesel STJ....slightly further south 2007-2008

My guess is I'll be tic higher than KASH, so about 32.

Tropical Weather Outlook NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL 800 AM EDT Tue Oct 6 2026 For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of America: Southwestern Gulf of America (AL92): Showers and thunderstorms are showing signs of organization in association with a broad area of low pressure located over the southwestern Gulf of America. Continued development of this system is expected, and a tropical depression is anticipated to form over the next day or so while it drifts eastward. The low pressure area could bring gusty winds and areas of heavy rain to the western portions of the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico in a couple of days. The disturbance is expected to turn to the north or northeast toward the northern Gulf Coast by the end of the week. It is still too early to determine specific impacts to the northern Gulf Coast, but interests from the Florida Panhandle to Louisiana should closely monitor the progress of this system. Sometimes these October storm tracks can give us an early indication of what we will see for the winter. The OP Euro and the AIFS track the system from the Gulf up through our area by later Sunday into Monday. This was one of the active storm tracks during the 1997-1998 super El Nino. This is also an east based event but much stronger than that one was.
