This stream auto-updates

  1. Past hour
  2. That rain yesterday made a serious dent in the glacier cover here with a lot of grass showing. Even seeing parts of basketball courts now. Prob won’t be much left aside from mounds by the end of the week.
  3. That's a pretty narrow ribbon, Somebody 5-10 mi or so on either side would see nothing.
  4. Agreed. I’ll throw out a Facebook post after the 12z runs tomorrow if at least 75% of the models/ensembles are still showing the storm as a “lookout Sunday/Monday for something” without overhyping it. I’d probably throw in daily updates after 12z runs everyday and wouldn’t even throw out a first call on amounts until after Friday night’s 0z runs. If you call for a foot of snow a week out and it ends up being 45 and sunny, then no one will take you or your posts seriously.
  5. Yeah probably little sloppy to start here but I’ll take even 1-2”
  6. I actually had one make a nest under my shed for here babies, Pretty unique, She would scoop up the leaves with her tail, Curl them under her against her belly, And transport them to the den.
  7. Do ones that missed to the south count…. Like today’s “event”.
  8. They can be nasty if you accidently trap one.
  9. I have seen these snow devils often while riding in NW Maine, Some are large, Some are the smaller types, Depends on the amount of wind.
  10. Probably under the coop too, Those Opossums like living under places.
  11. Post wherever you want. Just know that many on this forum are anonymous (anonymity makes some a bit too blunt) and some get annoyed too easily. Anyone who's not a met or doesn't have a great track record, is naturally going to catch some Hell for posting overly precise forecasts a week out or calling for two feet of snow without decent model support. Sounds like you don't like blunt critiques from triggered people (who does?)... then stick to three day forecasts that are less based on wishcasting.
  12. That seems too far south given the output or too early?
  13. What is hard to see, is the clear, thin ice nearer the W shore. All that ice will break up, and pile. The ice you see is older, med thick ice that will plow into the W areas. Here's todays ice maps using the thickness colors, with egg codes.
  14. Fwiw, JMA also jumped onboard for a storm next weekend.
