July 2026 General Discussion

The storms were 4 hours early as a beefcake MCS is plowing through. Its been a long time since I've had a 'awn storm. You couldn't see the darkness coming til it was right on top nearly. Curious if the smoke caused that. Fr. lightning with constant thunder, going to be shy of an inch after its not moving fast and I see some backbuilding.

Now I've blown way past 1" I'm around 38mm so maybe 50 by the time its done! More convection building to my west, WUN was wildly off but I don't know about TWN. There is no watch nor warning - funny since this is nearly the best storm I've had of 2026 and for literally nothing I often get warned.

Impact Level: Extreme

Forecast Confidence: Very High

At 12:27 PM EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible. Thunderstorm Location: East of Milton Motion: Moving southeast at 50 km/h Hazards: Possible tornado. Wind: strong (up to 90 km/h) Rain: heavy (15 - 30 mm) Locations in the Path: Oakville and Mississauga. This is a very dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation. Take cover immediately in a basement, interior room, or a sturdy shelter when threatening weather approaches. If no shelter is available, lie in a low spot and protect your head from flying debris. If you are out on the water when threatening weather approaches, return to shore and seek shelter, if possible. Otherwise, move away from the path of the tornado to escape. Wear your lifejacket, lie face down and protect your head. Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches. Tornadoes can be wrapped in rain and may not be visible. Tornado warnings are issued when a thunderstorm is producing or is likely to produce a tornado. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather in Ontario, send an email to [email protected] or post reports on X using #ONStorm. For more information: ontario.ca/page/be-prepared-emergency.

Came on here for this. Pretty sure a tornado just went from Milton to Oakville. As you know that’s a very heavily populated area

I haven't yet seen anything concrete but that was the most well defined hook echo I've seen in the GTA. The QLCS has a few cells with spacing but its a tad crowded. The og sup is nearing Niagara on the Lake but may slip past. Kettle Point ON has a tight cell that is sus.
