The big trees here are dead. There are a bunch in my back woods that are probably near nut producing age. Some have minor beech leaf disease…some not much at all.

It was a pioneer clump. I check for it every year because I'm paranoid. I think I got it early enough with all roots before it could send out the rhizomes.

We are absolutely buried in knotweed all along the West Branch up here.

I don’t notice it in any of the larger feeders or flashier drainages like Notchbrook or Sterling Valley.

It’s the West Branch here that flows through a lot of agriculture acres, golf course, draining fert and manure along the way in the larger valley (relative size around here).

Pretty crazy how green it is around the New Haven area that got 3-5 inches back on the 6th/7th. Took like a week for lawns to really respond and green up to all that rain.  Zero rain since and lawns are still going wild. Been having to mow like evey 3-4 days.

up this way if you aren't watering your lawn and it's in the sun, it's not growing and is mostly brown

I was down in you area this weekend for a lacrosse tournament and pretty much all full sun lawns were pretty brown, I'm sure its getting worse every day.  

Still mostly green here, but its definitely starting to see the the initial stages of drought stress. I don't water my lawn or have irrigation, but watering my new plants much more often than last month.

Mowed most of the backyard today. 3rd time of the season.

Was putting it off because of the lack of rain…so it better pour midweek now.

Yeah I don’t care too much about the backyard…especially the back half of the back by the woods where all of the fruit and nut trees are. I cut it early in the spring back there and that has been it. It’s a meadow around the pawpaws. Lots of crickets and tree frogs with the field grass and clover going to see.

The wife gets what she wants out front with the biweekly mowings. Although it has slowed way down this past month from that lack of rain.
