E PA/NJ/DE Spring 2026 Obs/Discussion

To those that celebrate....welcome to Phillies Opening Day!! Go Phillies! It will be a beautiful spring day today with highs reaching the 70's. Shower chances increase tonight into tomorrow morning. Much colder tomorrow with temperatures falling during the day and falling below freezing tomorrow night. Saturday will be the coldest day of the weekend with highs barely escaping the 30's. We moderate back to near normal temperatures by Sunday. Go Phillies!!

We have this debate every couple of years. I suspect Mike was being a bit sarcastic, but I let him speak to that.

My hunch is, if we combined forums, the Philly posters would eventually disappear. This is a backyard sport. Personally, I have little interest what the weather is doing in NYC. I'm mainly interested in obs from our local PA, south Jersey and northern DE posters. It gives me an idea of what's on the way, be it severe weather, the changeover line or what not.

I'd prefer to not have to waddle through hundreds of posts about the Mets pitching staff to find out how quickly the changeover line is progressing through the region.

Yes, sir- Seen the debate from time to time. Understand your opinion.  If we merge and continue to 'represent"- might work out as a more integrated entertaining/educational forum- such as the New England forum has acheived- despite it being hundreds of miles in breadth- but united across 6 states.  We could pull that off, too- given another attempt.

If it were up to me, I would merge the Upstate NY/Pennsylvania/Philadelphia, and NYC into one region, and do it like this:

New England - CT/MA/VT/NH/RI/ME

NY/PA/NJ

Mid-Atlantic - DE/MD/DC/VA/WV

Thats a pretty sensible demarcation, actually.  Would give critical mass/ synergies to a couple "quiet" subforms, too.

If we ever merged with NY I’d delete my account the next day. Way too many weenies and blowhards up there. Imagine dealing with multiple mickeytims every year? No thanks. Some, I assume, are good people.

I think he meant it as a joke, not sure? I don't think any of the regulars here want to merge and sort through a bunch of NY nonsense. Nothing going on, so be it. A slight observation here and there is fine. There will be severe threats...how many, who knows? Literally during the summer months, really nothing going on besides severe threats which many times pop up immediately during the afternoon hours. Other than that, nothing to say besides "It's hot as shit again"....

I only post in here when our areas are tracking a snow event  or I am on vacation in Wildwood.

I don’t want to merge at all. I like this subforum even if it isn‘t as active as the others. If it’s a boring weather pattern like this why do we even need posts every few minutes like the NYC people?

  I understand. The "NY nonsense"as a reader (not emotionally vested) doesn't bother but can amuse me, personally.  I'm not much of a contributor- those that add more value than me are the captains of this forum. Mr. Gorse's post, whether serious or not, prompted my opinion, which I'll stand by- after consuming all the forums posting over time.   The value added posters here own the decisions.
