Just remember you green thumbs out there, no better time to fertilize your lawn and put down the pre-emergent than on top of a fresh snowpack!  So make sure to visit your local feed and seed tomorrow and load up those bags of clover cleaner and be ready for Sunday.  February 1st is the beginning of lawn maintenance season in the south!  ;)

Putting down pre-emergent on top of snow when the soil temps are nowhere close to 55 degrees is just wasting money.

How much snow do yall average per year?

Wilmington has historically averaged 1.6” yearly dating back to 1870.  That said, most years we see nothing, so it’s rare to even get the climatological average from one storm.  The last time Wilmington saw a 6” accumulation was during the Christmas blizzard of 1989 (a little over 36 years ago)!

So far, every model is saying 7"+ for me except the Euro. It is saying 3". Will be interesting to see exactly what happens. At least for my area, it's on an island by itself.
