Yep just started back up for me after about a ~45-60 min lull. It's very light though.

Pouring sleet in Kernersville with some gusty winds.  Temps have started the upward ticks now to 16°.

Into the 40s on the west side of the apps, wow!!  Convection rolling north for this afternoon.  Thunder ZR anyone?

A squall line of ZR is not going to accrete like an all day drizzle would. As NorthHills said, I think we’ve escaped the ice storm.

Wonder if flash flooding in the northern mountains of VA / WVA is a possibility?  They have a foot of new snow in many places that is going to get another inch or so of rain dumped this afternoon.

link to Brad P’s post. It was informative. This ain’t over. From the triangle, n and w, it could and likely will stay below freezing til it’s over and past. Today has always been predicted to be the dicey day. Heavier stuff coming. He breaks it down so it’s easily digested.

I think that is subjective...   A.  it isn't over yet. B.  There was always a range and possibility of less ice, and that was heavily communicated.

Freezing rain will just not let up here. Trees/branches are starting to pop at a frightening pace so I'm done walking out to try and measure but I'm confident it's well over a half inch now.

That’s subjective too. People in the triangle could lose power for a number of reasons. Thankfully it won’t be because of .5-.8 inches of ice. But it won’t stop trees that are weak from being a problem. Some people will suffer from this even if you don’t. I don’t see this as a forecasting bust. Weather is always changing and thy have kept us informed. Chill.
