It's like watching the same movie with the same dialogue every year. When my friends and employer start freaking out about the big storm five days out, I sigh. When it's 3 days out, I come over here. At two days out, I remember that nothing matters until the event. And that the event will probably be cold rain.

(and somehow I always make my very first click into the storm thread right after brick has commented indignantly about something. Always my first sign that there will be no snow.)

Looking back at the thread it’s comical how naive and stupid we all sounded. Did we really believe a near 1,000 mile long stretch of overrunning was possible? Even more hilarious, every single one of us took the bait on the 1050+ HP. :axe:

I think it had been so long since our whole collective group had tracked a storm, we forgot the cardinal rules of tracking a storm in the south.

Funny thing is it wasn’t just us. NWS, Local TV Mets, Weather Channel were all honking the horn on Monday. Heck the Weather Channel showed graphics all day Tuesday of 12-24” across NC.

Even Brad P was pretty gung ho on this one which is unusual for him. (Not to the extreme as others of course)

The funniest thing to me about all of this…especially cause this is one of the bigger events in recent years and social media has exploded even more (in the 4 years since MBY had a big event)…

I can go on Twitter and see all these weather accounts say “XYZ model is absolutely wrong I am telling you trust me”

And then you go to their account and see their location gets much less snow with the “wrong” model

Cracks me up!

Referencing this one if anyone is curious…

Maybe they are just engagement farming who knows
