Downslope city on the first one. Ultimately the most likely outcome in my neck of the woods with the energy diving so straight north/south instead of swinging around. Not a bad look for some though. And we just can’t have that energy getting stuck out west of the Rockies for the 2nd one.

Seen some 588 dm in Oregon on the UK,nuts that's like having a death ridge in the Pac NW.

Very high potential here,if the shortwaves can dig further southwest in my opinion.

GFS ensemble does not agree with the OP on the shortwave getting cutoff out west for the 2nd storm. Best snow means yet for that one.

Euro ai isn’t as bad. Thermals are iffy but idk much about how these ai models are doing with those details. Decent snow in the mountains for the 2nd one. Let’s see how the EPS looks compared to the OP.

Northern stream dominates, no STJ interaction to speak of, and cold doesn’t make it south or east at all for either timeframe.  Euro and gfs summed up.

Definitely not good runs from last night and this morning. If something doesnt change at 12z today for the better we may be heading towards a no go solution again.

I've just learned especially this season to not look for anything too far out. I've been sucked in and let down as well. Maybe things shift better later but we've seen this before.
