For sure. Went from 0.8 QPF to 0.4 in two HRRR Runs. 
 

as you said it will bounce around but it will be a relatively thin band of 0.8-1.0QPF IMO with a more general 0.4-0.6 for most. Mesos have much spottier precip compared to globals

as I said yesterday I’ve always been more concerned about QPF than I am about too much mixing

Snow recently began in BGM.  CC looks like mixing might be occurring to their west.

Im expecting the high end totals up here in the bronx. 8+ inches of high ratio fluff. The radar is looking better to our west also. The actual trajectory of the heaviest precip is diving south and east right in to nyc later or so it seems.

22F/8DP.  That's going to eat up at least the initial part of it.  Radar looks a little spotty, not a lot of concentrated heavier precip currently.  I'm leaning towards the 5 on the 5-8" forecast.

Marine Park Brooklyn (South brooklyn). 3:11PM 28 Degrees. Overcast. No snow yet but it "smells" like snow, if that makes sense.
