It being at night and featuring some heavy rates is favorable.  Also having preexisting snow to stick to.  It looks to be incredibly wet if it doesn’t go to rain.

I remember 2013-2014 having some rain, but there was persistent cold between systems.  The thaws were mostly brief warm sectors, no major Pacific intrusions.  The real polar vortex came later.

If that’s all snow, that’s about as high of a reflectivity return for snow
as you’ll ever see around here.

Driving home leaving the U at that time, can confirm it was all snow. Windshield was fully coating in between wipes

Was just out for daycare pick up. Bet visibility was 1/4 to 1/2 mile at best, and there’s hardly any wind right now. It’s just snowing that hard. Sounded like some ice pellets were mixing in a bit once I got home.
