Central PA Winter 25/26 Discussion and Obs

Despite pretty high winds, the most impactful weather has shifted over to the snow bands that set up late this evening/early this morning in combo with the winds of course. 

Opted for a late night snow chase on a band that set up in northern Blair/NW Huntingdon a couple hours ago and it ended up being worth it. Some folks probably saw their biggest snowfall of the season to date under it. 2-4” was common on the I-99 corridor roughly between Bellwood-Tyrone, carrying over into Huntingdon County. Very impressive for a LES band being off the Laurel’s.

This band missed here by about 6 miles or so, there’s only about a half inch of wind blown snow here at the house.

26 degrees, winds been blowing hard all night, kept me half awake.

Back to back days with .03” of rain. Low of 28. Winds had me up through the night and were downright vicious around 3am. Let’s see if we can’t catch a dusting one of the next couple nights.

Harrowing night.  Not much sleep at all. 

Winds should decrease into the 20s this evening.

Winds have been howling much of the night and will continue this morning before slowly subsiding later today. The sun returns today but we stay with well below normal temperatures for at least the next week with temperatures remaining below freezing till at least Saturday. We only warm slightly to just above freezing this weekend into early next week. There is a chance of a little snow later New Years Eve into New Years Day. If we do see some snow amounts should be light.

Goddamned wind killed Edison sometime throughout the night. I have OSA and require air being shoved into my face hole to sleep so obviously, that didn't happen. 

 

Dragging tuchus today. Still windy. Shit sucks.

Yes I'd like to do some work outside with the brush cutter. Now that the sleet is gone would be a great time to do it. Even if it's around 30. But factor in that wind...no thanks.
