Up to 68°. Hopefully we can pop some sun before late afternoon.

How much do you know about wild grapes? I've never seen them as bountiful as they are this year. They've taken over my upper field. Pounds and pounds of grapes.

Not much, but my special named varieties got nailed with black rot this year. I either need to start spraying or go back to more disease resistant ones like Concord.

Really tired of the summer drought persistence around here.

drove into wells ME yesterday noticed tons of scorched vegetation along the way.

Average here from June 1 thru today: 8.27"

There was some in a neighbors yard growing up, being a kid we tried them, they were awful and have seeds. Not sure if they were the same variety you have though they look similar.

they taste like shit, and the vines will choke out any trees that they climb. Nuke ‘em.

A few years back…5-7 or so? They were growing so much in one part of my neighborhood.  As they ripened they smelled amazing.  Then they started to rot or ferment.  Smelled like the cheapest Boone’s Farm stuff from back in the day.

Yeah they rot really quickly. Agree with the smell. People do pick them off of my front wall so they must find something to do with them.

I figured most of the wild ones are concord type grapes with seeds. Do they ripen dark purple to almost black?

Yeah there's some variety of Concord. Could even have been cultivated at one time it was an old farm. I remember eating them as a kid . lots of seeds

With little to no rain today for many . and the next 10+ days looking mainly dry .. will hope some storms appear on modeling with the front on Friday . Otherwise we will have to hope that cane near the Bahamas next week can make a run up at us.

Fish storm.

That's all ya got? Couple degrees above normal in 16 days. Hopefully you will have recovered from your surgery and will be back trolling the internet by that time.

let me know when you can read a map

and the back surgery was for the Ginx's "back-broken" comments earlier.  clearly summers back is 110% fully healed by the end of the first week of Aug
