I was in Saratoga a few days ago and Oaks were 80% full still(all brown, no green). Im guessing your hilltop microclimate matters in some way. I have been in below 32 many many times. Ditto here. Most are 50% full. Mine were still partially yellow/green a week or two ago while they were brown or bare in Concord/Canterbury.

I hit 32 for less than an hour this morning so no freeze … I think it’s a combination of low sunlight (wooded) and cooler daytime temps. Had a wet summer here overall . There are still some that have some leaves . It depends on the species of the Oaks

That's what I mean...some species matter. I see it here. Some oaks are bare. Yet here they hang on..albeit definitely earlier leaf drop than recent years. dendrite
Yeah I’m wooded and on the north side of a hill…and in a decent drought. And the trees still love to hold leaves until turkey day.
Damage In Tolland
It’s literally always windy here . Rarely ever is it calm so maybe all the wind brings them down quicker.

I know oaks are in the beech family, but beech will hold their leaves until spring.
