I hit 32 for less than an hour this morning so no freeze … I think it’s a combination of low sunlight (wooded) and cooler daytime temps. Had a wet summer here overall . That's what I mean...some species matter. I see it here. Some oaks are bare. Yet here they hang on..albeit definitely earlier leaf drop than recent years.
