So it looks like 0.10" from the "event", which IS pretty much spot on with the forecast from yesterday, as they said a tenth to a quarter inch. While it looked like the line was going to hold, it fizzled at I-81, but...we weren't really supposed to get the big storms here anyway. I had just hoped for a bit more rain for my newly emerging grass areas.

A muggy low of 67 here. No rain at all at my place but once I got a couple miles into my drive the roads were wet. Dew points should drop like a rock today. A beautiful couple days ahead before the rain arrives.

How is the Friday pm & Saturday rain chance looking?

My daughter’s softball league has a tournament this weekend, so the timing will determine if it happens or not.

What the heck happened to the sunny & 65 this weekend that CTP had for days? The last day or so, the weekend forecast looks to have gone downhill!

NWS State College was late to the party again the 2nd time this year on Severe Thunderstorm Warning for my location. They issued the warning while the storm was already in progress at my location.

There is a good deal of wind damage to trees in my area from last nights storm.

there must be quite a bit of damage up in the mountain from the storm. I can smell it. I smelled it last night and this morning. The smell of fresh cut leaves. This smell smells exactly like that time back in the 90's when we had that hail storm. We had hail on the ground 2 hours after the storm. And I spent 3 days raking up leaves, in early June from that storm. and that tree snapping an the sound of trees hitting the ground last evening was scary.

That line was far, far more intense to the north of Harrisburg than down this way...I had .02" of rain and a top wind gust of 11 mph. (during the actual "storm")

Wife and I are going (pending my health) to the Phillies - Diamondbacks game on Sunday. What looked like a stellar day is also going down the tube. Sigh.

I live at a low spot surrounded by hills so I typically don't see those strong winds. Last nights gust was 34 for me at the house. My son had a gust to 50 and he lives 3 miles as the crow flies from me. And he lives in the open on a hill.

And as fast as the line fizzled, my warning was unfounded. It's crazy what that I-81 ridge from Tremont to Hazleton can do. It happens a lot...

Looks like it was quite intense heading down the I-80 corridor. In State College lots of trees down/roads closed. I remember some decent T-storms and small hail when I lived there but this seemed particularly bad. The line bowed out heading that way so I’m sure there was significant wind impact that whole area.

This is a problem and going to get worse. Budget and staff cuts are going to hurt the NWS’ forecast abilities.

Leaving work in a few hours for MORE bloodwork and another chest xray. I do feel better today than I have at any point since this started, but no where near 100%.

Here's the bizarre thing - yesterday, 9 days after I came down with whatever I'm dealing with, 2 extended family members, both in their 20s, both in great physical shape, came down with what seems like the exact same thing as me. Both went to the ER yesterday (one lives in Lebanon, the other in Elizabethtown) and after scans, tests, xrays and bloodwork...both were sent home with no clinical diagnosis. 

How strange is that?

Man, the Euro wants to keep an ULL parked over the eastern US all next week and just dump on us for days on end.  Far from any type of model consensus, as solutions run the gamut, but has shown up in varying forms on other runs.  Verbatim would lead to the 10-day totals shown below.  Something to keep an eye on as we move towards the weekend.

 

I'll bite. I think our area can handle that over 10 days without too many issues. Do some nice work on the drought
