Snowing much harder. Driveway white, road getting white. Already. Trying to get my daughter ready so we can beat the traffic problems. Not going so well.

Keep me updated on how bad the roads are getting... Right now i'm still debating going up early... I'm guessing if I don't leave by 12pm its likely too late.

Temp: 39.7 degrees here (d'oh) although I expect this to drop off quickly once precipitation begins.

Humidity: 50%

Radar looks decent here, just need a southward job in the next 3-6 hours.

Hey Phil. I posted a little while ago. I already had 1.5 inches and that was a while ago. It is really coming down now. Smoky Park and Patton were getting white. Leicester white from George's Deli on. I would venture to say most roads will be snow covered very soon. Be careful if you decide to make the trip.

Phil, Closing in on 3 inches Up towards Weaverville. Went to Walgreens on Merrimon & Oterri. Less snow as you get closer to town. If you have some sort of multi wheel drive you should be ok. If not your window is closin rapidly!

From the Aville Citizen Times:

Snow started falling in downtown Asheville around 8 a.m. and is now covering roads all over Western North Carolina.Mulitple accidents are being reported on roads this morning, including multiple wrecks on I-40 and I-26.

In Buncombe County most roads, including interstates and primary roads, are covered in snow and ice. The N.C. Department of Transportation started plowing interstates and primary roads around 9:30 a.m.
