Already down to 36 in the Valley. I definitely think the inversion is developing. Just drove back from Cherokee where it was 52 at 5 PM. Temperature dropped quickly coming down Soco Gap from 50 to 39 in Maggie.

Dang that's pretty cool. Although Haywood is always usually cooler than surrounding areas.

24 is my low this morning here in the Valley. The Cataloochee Webcam looks awesome! Another cold front arrives this evening with another shot of NWFS for the Northern Mountain folks. There is a chance that another front on Thursday afternoon could bring a chance of snow further SW.

Yeah Buckethead, I am intrigued by the potential later this weekend into the Thanksgiving Holiday period and beyond that. It's beginning to look like some mighty chilly air heads our way and hangs around for a while. I count at least 3 storm systems lined up beginning early next week and a potential Gulf low organizing in the extended range. Watching carefully.

Cataloochee Ski Area announced today that they are planning to open Saturday (November 20th).

Saw that Sugar Mountain was open yesterday; snow cover is looking more sparse today;  the upcoming cool down should get ski season going nicely.
