August and September have been much warmer than average here. Usually those 2 months are warmer than June/July, at least the last few years.

Yep, sorry I mean the rest of Canada. Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, Winnipeg ect.. normally all see the first 40F in August and then 32F in early September.

Calgary tends to see a snowstorm every few years (3-6") in September

From BUF AFD…

An outflow boundary from convection which passed to the north pushed across the Niagara Frontier, roughly to I-90 from Buffalo to Rochester. This helped weaken convection with the initial line, however mesoscale guidance shows a secondary line of storms developing along this boundary this afternoon. With wind shear still in place, there could be a second round of strong to severe storms along and to the south of this boundary. How strong depends in large part how much destabilization occurs behind this initial outflow during this afternoon. A Severe Thunderstorm watch remains in effect for the cwa

Well, they dropped the watch for the S Shore...

Well I limped my way to 10" liquid on the month lol picked up a full 0.02" of liquid today..I'm sure those storms that developed to the south robbed some of the moisture, radar didn't look to bad at first lol

Real estate around here is going to be insane someday once California starts to look like Fury Road and Florida turns into Waterworld.

And our winters start to resemble Carolina winters.

Any chance we can keep the climate change stuff in the other forum?

Dude it’s the doldrums of summer.  People can post baseball stats in here if they want. I could see if we had a big event going down but it doesn’t get more boring than this.

Just wait until cali gets a 8.5 earthquake. People seem to have forgotten than cali is wildly overdue for an absolutely catastrophic quake. Back in the 80s and 90s I feel like it was all people talked about. Now you never hear a peep. It’s going to be a massive wake up call for some. I predict it; along with major water shortages….will initiate the next major migration out of the state.

My guess is Vort was just hoping to keep this a forum where there isn't political discussion about heated topics (no pun intended ) that easily cause discourse.

I understand your point as well. But there is a reason the two separate forums were created. Seems like a legitimate request in being respectful to all our members and guests.

That and the crime / homeless problems in parts of Cali, which has already started some flight.  They'll be thankful they did when the big one hits and part of Cali slides off into the Pacific as a new island  (remember when that was a big fear porn topic years ago?  Seems quaint now).  ;)

I always thought the talk of part of California sliding into the Pacific was tongue in cheek. What would it take for that to happen, a magnitude 25 quake? (Don’t forget the Richter scale is logarithmic).

Exactly. Especially when words like 'unthinkable' are used, lol. Unthinkable is what happens in our beloved apocalypse movies.

I see your point. I thought people were just posting general climate data about our region.  I didn't realize there was a spin to it.  If there is no spin, I think it should be in here, the other thread is a dumpster fire.

Have you had a bud light seltzer before? Not the biggest fan of bud light but their seltzer’s are delicious. I prefer over a white claw.

Yeah I'm a big fan. My aunt works for untapped so she gets first dibs on a lot of new beers/selzters so she dropped off bunch last week before she went back to Charlotte. Been testing them out and rating them on app for her.
