I do it some because I know the business doesnt enforce it, doesnt want to, its posted because the state says to,  and a lot of people dont want to wear one either. The more people see others not do it, they'll do it too. That's the only way it'll get finished faster.

I have to say ive never been chastised by a single business. Had one customer hollar at me in home depot. I just walked on by.

Our son was working minimum wage last summer loading mulch, hay bales etc in the heat wearing a mask due to requirements. An occasional yahoo would give him shit about wearing it.   He never said anything to the “customer”, the customer just wanted to vent at a 19 year old kid

I appreciate that    Likewise I have avoided doing business with establishments that have flouted public hygiene regulations during a pandemic - a certain hotel in the town next door to mine for example.

It's really not a big deal when it's all optional and people can be treated like rational adults and trusted to make the best decisions for themselves and/or their business.

Hopefully that world can return soon.

Your buddy sounds pretty well-informed to me.

You and him would get along just great.  The stuff he says in mocking people who think differently than him regarding the 'Vid (weak, scared, sheep, Karens, crazy nutjobs, etc) is almost identical to what you write and he's definitely extremely passionate about sharing his opinion on COVID, ha. Definitely don’t get him going on the seatbelt law though, think there may be more passion there than COVID.

I was thinking about sending him a link to this thread though the Mods may not appreciate that .

I quit going to a local hardware store because they were militant.

You used to see videos of people on YouTube or social media who are "trying to stick it to the man" and not wear a mask while entering like a Bed Bath and Beyond... brave souls just looking for a confrontation with anyone.  It was always weird to me because you are basically trying to get into an argument with some minimum wage employee who had literally nothing to do with the decision to make you put a mask on.  Like I dare that high schooler working part time after school tell me to put my mask on.

Those of us who have not received the vaccine will respect you more if you just go back to normal...

None of us feel that we need you to keep us safe. You can stop now.

Nothing says mature like berating a 19 year old kid

i wish shirts and shoes were optional inside stores, and i could carry an open bottle of beer outside on my neighborhood sidewalk.  why do people blindfully comply with these silly regulations?

last fall i stopped in a gun shop for some ammo. i had never been there before, but the place had Trump signs/flags and all kinds of stuff on the windows. Right on the door in big letters was a sign stating MASKS NOT ALLOWED. the whole time i was in there, which wasn't long, the guy was yakking to some other guy about how the whole china virus thing was fake, no one had gotten that sick blah blah blah. even though i needed some 9mm ammo which has gotten hard to find, but decided not to give this kook any of my ammo spending money.

Are you mad we aren’t thanking you for “keeping us safe”?

I'm baffled at why any human being with a functioning (supossedly) brain would not see the value in protecting others. Why do people need to be told to wear a mask?

Yo, we should all be having a beer or favorite beverage tonight, not fighting. This is a good day and one step closer to the end. No matter what you think of this pandemic, it has sucked for most of us in one way or another.

.

Yeah. Nothing has been good about it with the possible exception of me being able to get a prime beach spot with drink service for not a lot of $$$

The next steps in this “logical” path are banning guns, then sharp knives, then cars, then activities such as skiing. No thanks. Let’s stop it here. My safety depends on my personal choices, not a mask mandate. I don’t need you to keep me safe in the name of govt overreach.

I have never been in a gun shop that wasn’t full of paranoid kooks, to be honest. I never like going in those places.

Let’s face it-there is a schism in the country with no tolerance for someone else’s opinion.  In my lifetime it has never been this bad.  Tribalism as Luke alluded to is toxic and it’s at all levels of society.

Yea. It is a safer play then trying to predict which consumer goods stock will succeed. Have any green mining stocks in mind?

I have had the BEEM for almost two years and finally has done well; they are placing solar panels on light poles in Parking lots
