We came close to having highs only in the 60s, I think the high on Monday was actually just after midnight and it was only in the 60s during the day.

Mon/Wed were impressively cool days for July and awful for those who enjoy summer weather.  Sun has allowed temps to over perform today to get back some of the negative departures but Sat will likely tack on a decent negative if we see no sunn

The one good thing was the rainbow Monday evening (and we did get some rain.)  Humidity is really high today.  Looks like we will have a light rainfall tomorrow with less than 0.5"

Chris, what's been causing this ridge west, trough east pattern in what's been a predominantly NAO positive summer?

The whole Northern Hemisphere pattern is different this June and July from the typical one we got used to during the 2010's. Perhaps the recent QBO flip after the historic anomaly the last few years is a piece of the puzzle.
