Not much change on the Euro Ens Mean for late next week.  It looked a touch more suppressed with precip moving across the south and a little cooler across the Ohio Valley...but little change...it didn't go warmer at least

Didn't really look at yesterdays or the 0z run but like the changes from yesterdays 12z run...the PV lobe doesn't lift north and stays somewhat in SE Canada and the NPac ridge is further east and nosing into Greenland.  The ens snow mean did jump up down south.

Pretty much everyone from Indiana to the NE and down to I-20 is going to be hoping for something next week.

LOL.....typical southern winter.  Models keep pushing everything into the 10 day range without fail.  Wait until Friday and our Jan 1 storm chances will be Jan 5th.  Bank on it, and in the meantime we can break out the sunscreen and mosquito spray.

You could be 100% correct, but anything around Christmas was always fools gold.  At least after that, we have a thimble of a chance

Euro Control run has a big Miller B storm Dec 29-30 with snow, sleet, freezing rain.  Icing extends from Greenville, NC to Wilmington area to south of Columbia, to south of Augusta, to Atlanta.  Clown map has some 26 inches of snow along NC/VA border (likely snow to sleet showing as all snow).  1043mb high just north of the Great Lakes with heavy damming

Just saw that very same event. If we can get timing and the trough axis right, it's definitely possible.
