Found this page of significant snowstorms in the Paducah cwa, going back to the late 1800s.

How about this for an out of season event? Pretty remarkable to get that much snow that far south in late April.

How about this one for near Halloween of 93:

 looked cold and snowy to me?

4-5" in 16 days during the middle of winter isn't snowy... Maybe the lake belts cash in, but there is no guarantee we get much lake effect this far east. So you have a couple moisture starved clippers come through otherwise a bunch of cold and dry. 18z is the same.

Verbatim. Clippers can always juice up and get lake enhanced when time draws closer

Two weeks of no sun prompted me to get a tanning membership for winter. I think I get Seasonal Affective Disorder even though I love the snow. Makes no sense! ^_^

I know! This blah, mild, foggy, drippy weather has me so down, and Winter in general does to a degree, but snow is like Viagra to me.

Exactly! Saturday was 60 and sunny and had the windows down all day and was outside enjoying it. It's tough to enjoy outside in winter here with no snow. I could ski/board but the conditions are terrible right now. Can't hike or cross country in the snow like I usually do in winter.

Nah I get it, I love snow but winter is seriously bad for my mental health, it's the lack of sunshine that causes it which is especially bad downwind of Lake Huron. I should move somewhere like Denver or Santa Fe where it's usually sunny and mild but you can go to the mountains for snow.

Yeah being on the eastern side of Lake Erie from Late Oct to April 90% of the days are Cloudy. From May to September we get mostly sunny skies about 95%+ of the time due to the lake shadow. So that long stretch without sun and without snow is tough, you're stuck inside all day everyday.

I wish I knew how to stay as positive as you do.  A week with no snow and I'm zillowing Montana.

Wed will be 2 weeks with no snow for me, and despite getting a lot in Dec and some nice whiteouts early in Jan, I am having withdrawals like an addict who hasnt had any. I could NEVER live in a climate with less frequent snowfall than the Lakes. Not the Plains, not the east coast, and CERTAINLY not south. Not that I didnt know it before, but this only further proves it.

I don't think I could live south of my mailbox

this is how bad it is

Here are some impressive stats from the ongoing extended mild-stretch:
- A January record of 8 consecutive days above freezing at NWS Marquette (records began in 1961).

- 5th occurrence (1/19) of a ≥50F day in January for Ironwood since records began in 1902.

...

- Record lowest snow depth (3") for 1/22 in Marquette (records began in 1948).

- 9 consecutive days without snow in the Houghton area after only 3 snow-free days between 12/1 and 1/14.

Could but right now I don't see it and considering these are coming out of the north northwest vs the west northwest or northwest, you don't get a chance to get interaction with the gulf and become hybrid. These are going to be moisture starved.

It's been a painfully bad winter here so far. January is running a staggering +6.9 above average for the month, and our seasonal snowfall total stands at 2.8".

We broke a record the record of 62 degrees setback in 1907 with a high of 64 on Saturday.

I have not seen a snow depth of greater than 1".

Really starting to compare this winter to 2011-2012 at least locally. We will neee February to finish -7 below average, just to average out this winter, to where it won't end up above normal temp wise.

It's certainly getting pretty ridiculous.  The midweek system was locked in days ago and was never in play for the I-80 corridor.  With nothing on the models after this system, it will end up being at least seven weeks in the heart of winter without even being teased with anything.

Pretty unbelievable that there hasn't even been a fantasy dog turd duster the last few weeks. Give me a nice super bowl blizzard, then Forch.

I'm going to keep my complaints/whining to a minimum.

Nah its cool, this winter has been a bag of **** outside of 2 weeks. I am just happy it has been active else, I'd be in the same boat as everyone else complaining, as activity dictates how exciting my job gets.

This winter has been so 90's.  Some early glimpses of hope.  Then rumors of raging blizzards in the Dakotas, followed by an irrational level of excitement over a couple of possible 1 in. Clippers.

Thankfully February has been pretty solid lately...but my hopes are not high.

50 years since the great snowstorm of 1967.  Still stands as the greatest snowfall in Chicago history.  Records are made to be broken though and it's a record that I feel is likely to be broken in my lifetime... it's not hugely ahead of the 2nd-5th place storms and there's been a few cracks at it in more recent years.
