Lol. I just looked at the homes for sale , holy fuk. a home very similar to mine is listed at 1.1 m, lol my valuation was 195K . I have almost 3 acres, that place 15K sq ft of yard. Location location location, but damn

You probably saw the one we bought. Aren't too many in the area....low inventory.

at our age a lifesaver, a suggestion, get an Ariens.I got a Toro last year, love it but used the neighbors Ariens while my old one was Kaput and its sweet.

Thanks for the tip Steve! I wouldn't know the difference. I was walking the dog this morning on a lovely am and noticed that the quiet streets in my neighborhood are really nice. Then I got to the corner my house is and the cacophony reminded me we made the right choice.

I'd sell, move to Western Maine on a lake in the mts for 350K with 10 acres, retire and still have 3.6 m to play with

That's the long game and why we decided to do this. In 5 years we should add substantially to our worth if we choose to sell and go elsewhere or whenever we do it...lol even leave it to our kids....it's worth it's weight in gold in that neighborhood.

I know MPV did it too.

Its an interesting record, I tried hard to find any station that ran an entire month above or below normal and couldn't find one, there was always that 1 day, like Dec 89. Above normal wise was even tougher. Of course I had no way to check every station out there but if someone finds one please post it.

Just look at those daily departures and then the huge daily snow amounts. That month is as good as it gets.

I still go back and look at my pics, and the threads on here. I know it may have been disappointing at times missing out, but you were a good sport and contributed which is appreciated.

Staying in Brookline just moving up to the part that is in chestnut hill...near putterham golf course. I have crap from the 70s that will need to be discarded. We're giving up walking to everything which is a loss but we're gaining a beautiful neighborhood that's in the country just 3 miles from where I am now. And I'm gaining elevation...lol. The house appears in great shape but we'll have an inspection next week that should tell the tale. Looking forward to the quiet and I'll find quickest walking routes (neighborhood has sidewalks which is a requirement for me-deal breaker otherwise) and enjoy the gain in amenities, space, quiet, nice living area, and a bit more snow.

Did you say house in the country? But only 3 miles from where you are now? Does not compute ;). Congrats too.

Don't cry for me Argentina. I had 43.3" that month and pulled off a -13F. Of course Rockingham County got clobbered by the blizz while I downsloped.

Using the climate of MVL though haha. But you know my beef with a station at 1200ft having the same climo norms as a spot at 750ft ;). It's easy when you are handed a -2F departure head start.

1V4 had a -1F too. I understand your point, but regardless it will go down as official.

I'm still mad at Feb 22 and 26 for ruining hopes of an all-below-freezing month.

Snow or no snow, last Feb was extreme.

16 days with below zero lows.

Only two days with a low warmer than single digits.

Definitely my lamest winter ever in the wind department, though.

"Warmest" minimum at my place was 5, with only two days milder than +1.  Had 21 days at least -10, and 6 at least -20.  However, we missed all the good storms except on Groundhog Day and that brought about half what folks got farther south.  Despite receiving 23.5" snowfall (110% of my Feb avg) and with the whole month only having about 4 hr with temp above 30F, my snowpack on 2/28 was the same - 26" - as it had been on 2/1.

Lol. I just looked at the homes for sale , holy fuk. a home very similar to mine is listed at 1.1 m, lol my valuation was 195K . I have almost 3 acres, that place 15K sq ft of yard. Location location location, but damn

I think your valuation is about twice mine, on our 40' by 24' cedar-log-sided cabin (L.C.Andrews package) on 80 acres.  Housing isn't all that costly in Franklin County unless one has water frontage or lives in Rangeley.

at our age a lifesaver, a suggestion, get an Ariens.I got a Toro last year, love it but used the neighbors Ariens while my old one was Kaput and its sweet.

Bought a Craftsman in early Jan 2011.  It's not as rugged as the one which died at the end of 2007-08 (20+ yr old then) but it has served well.  The two winters w/o mechanical assist were tough, even low-snow 09-10, in which the largest storm, 10.7" in late Feb, had 2.68" LE, 4-to-1 mashed potatoes.  Try that in your snowscoop!  I think that clearing the 24.5" (atop 27" pack) in late Feb the year before had much to do with my son's eagerness to move back to southern Japan.   ;)

Might have done it in Jan 1985 in Ft. Kent.  Never got all that cold (for there, -23 is run-of-the-mill), but the high for the month was only 22.  I did record 46 consecutive AN days in 2010, but over two months, Feb. 8 thru Mar 25.  CAR's AN run began two days earlier and ended on 3/25 as well, for 48 in a row.

now data says no at Fort Kent in Jan 85 with the 5th being plus 8, yea CAR did not record entire months of AN in 2010,
