Some Big Johnson shirts about to get rained on! Lookout Myrtle Beach, that line looks awesome!

Winds were not as great as expected, but an awesome light show made up for it. Some nice heavy rains going on currently.

On vacation at MB and this is the first good storm of the week.

The whole state of Ohio comes here. Lol Best storm of the year cuz all of the storms at home have been worse than terrible. Great storm even if it didn't verify as severe. You could also see moonrise under the shelf cloud.

Myrtle Beach SC and Gatlinburg TN are the 2 big vacation spots for people in NE Kentucky and SW Ohio.

Well, nothing here again tonight. I don't recall a year where I have seen so few big storms.

Meanwhile, a friend of mine is in Myrtle Beach and posted this on facebook tonight.

Very nasty looking clouds. We had some very angry looking clouds here when the storms rolled in.

It rained a lot up here at Lake Gaston. But it was just rain, no storms at all. I saw on Facebook there were blue skies back home 30 minutes ago. Just an hour and 15 minutes away. Did anyone get any good storms today? RAH had the Raleigh area with a 70% chance of storms today and looks like there were not any around.

Watch out for these later today!!!

ACROSS THE NORTH...EXPECT SCATTERED CONVECTION TO DEVELOP IN VICINITY OF THE WEAK LOW LEVEL TROUGH BY MID AFTERNOON. WHILE LIKELY NOT AS ROBUST AS THE STORMS TO THE SOUTH...STILL COULD SEE STRING GUSTY WINDS (35-40KTS) WITH THESE STORMS.

Y'all watch out for those string winds, they are as rare as heat lightning and dangerous !

Eastern NC has been added into the slight risk for today.

...ERN CAROLINAS THIS AFTERNOON... THE EWD PROGRESSION OF A SUBTLE MID-LEVEL IMPULSE THROUGH THE SRN APPALACHIANS HAS GIVEN RISE TO RECENT TSTM DEVELOPMENT OVER CNTRL NC. DAYTIME HEATING OF A VERY MOIST AIR MASS OVER ERN NC WILL YIELD AN AXIS OF MODERATE INSTABILITY LATER TODAY WHICH WILL COINCIDE WITH A RESIDUAL BELT OF ENHANCED WLY FLOW IN THE 700-600-MB LAYER PER CURRENT VAD DATA AND FORECAST SOUNDINGS. AS SUCH...THE POTENTIAL WILL EXIST FOR THE EVOLUTION OF BOWING STORM STRUCTURES CAPABLE OF DAMAGING WIND GUSTS INTO EARLY EVENING.
