Yeah be fine for accumulation there then.

Interesting seeing the oscillation to the west.

Take a look at that kink in the reflectivity just west of Holland at 09z. I bet you anything that kink is the hrrr trying to develop a meso low. Even if the winds are from 340 or so, that could be enough to send the band westward into valpo for awhile and give a few hours of intense snow in the morning. The band usually will shift back east after a few hours but can give a quick 3-5" to the valpo area.

Yeah I see that now. Looks like the same thing a meso low would do on this side of the lake in a northerly wind situation with convergence along the shoreline.

We had some light mixed precip/fine flakes in downtown Toronto for about 20 minutes just before sunset. Nothing since. Temps down to about 34 with the front having moved through, a bit windy

Yeah same had some flurries flying around for a bit but thats about it. The bands off GB and Lake Huron dont look very defined, maybe they will get cranking later on in the night but thus far nothing.

The snow here wasnt big flakes, rather it was small flakes blowing in sheets more typical of what you would see in a winter snowstorm rather than early-mid November. Had 0.4" of snow here, and 0.5" at DTW. It has pasted the grass/rooftops white and is now freezing into frozen crunch as the winter air seeps in.

First measurable snowfall, November 11th

SnowFreak - what is that in your last picture?! Cantaloupe?

BEH is the focus right now. Let's see how the HRRR performs.

Pumpkins that never ripened enough lol. Its always interesting when you can get a few remnants of Fall into those first snow pics. And boy, it sure feels like WINTER outside now, but once the last few trees with leaves on them see their leaves frozen off the next few days, time for all the leaf cleanup and then lets all get buried in snow :)

Indeed I do.  We're all talking about it in the Wx Center.

It's hell to forecast for the school districts though.

I would imagine if a district is large enough; one side of it could be just seeing a dusting, while another area of it is seeing whiteout conditions and 6" of snow!

Pretty much all Berrien County right now.

O yeah and the RPM map I saw.

By the way, I was checking the HRRR and it really doesn't show a meso-low.

The westward movement of the band is due to an increasing land-breeze, which pushes the band back west for a time. This feature weakens in the morning and the band pushes back east before weakening.

That's not to say a meso-low can't/won't form though.
