Just an observation: Left DC at 3pm w/a rather high ceiling / general overcast, only a few breaks. As I headed north, could see a lot of blue slivers in the sky and by the time I got to Columbia, pretty much sunshine thru high, broken clouds. Up to 89.3 IMBY, the high for the day.

Can't hurt to be under full sun for the next hour or so, especially with that one cell over KFDK, making an apparent SE-ward beeline toward Columbia area.

I am the closest and all I see is muck. I am on the Western side of it and it looks like it will just scrape by me.

the competing updrafts dont seem to be helping. it might just fall apart. it's turning a little too much to the right anyway.

If it is in fact turning more right than it would be headed more towards me now. I can just now see the leading edge to my N. Mostly dark skies but some structure.

well it's not super extreme and may just be that the western cell became dominant. but it has turned a bit right since near the border.

i just hope i get out of work before the tornado later.
