SNOW SQUALLS WILL BE NEAR...

NICKS LAKE CAMPGROUND...POLAND...OLD FORGE AND ILION BY 135 AM EST

OHIO...NEWPORT...MOHAWK AND HERKIMER BY 140 AM EST

ALGER ISLAND PUBLIC CAMPGROUND AND MIDDLEVILLE BY 145 AM EST

SNOW SQUALLS PRODUCING A 15 TO 45 MINUTE PERIOD OF HEAVY SNOW AND

NEAR WHITE OUT CONDITIONS CAN BE EXPECTED. GENERALLY 1 TO 2 INCHES

OF SNOW WILL ACCUMULATE...BUT THE SEVERITY OF THE SNOW SQUALLS WILL

SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCE VISIBILITY AND CAUSE EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS

DRIVING CONDITIONS.

The plume has been sitting right over me for 90+ minutes. SN and 23F ...sometimes bordering +SN.

In the northern fringe of the lake effect band with most of the heavy snow south over northern cayuga county. The band will probably stay to the south for the next several hours given the steady wnw flow at 850 mb, with a few oscillations to the north or south.

It lightened a lot here now, but maybe the plume will re-energize some to our west northwest. Usually have to look toward like Canajoharie and Herkimer to see if some heavier pulses are forming.

What a pleasant surprise this squall has been! A bit over 2 inches and snowing steadliy and pretty hard! :snowing: One of our bigger "storms" of the year!

So far only about 5" in Oswego, but were currently getting very heavy snow with large flakes in the core of the band. Fulton reported 19" earlier with the band over them all morning.

Yeah, I heard Fulton got blasted. They declared a snow emergency or something right? Oh how I would love even half that just once this miserable winter!
