weatherwiz
Further looking at the GFS/soundings..at least for CT we would actually likely flip over to snow here at some point during the storm. one thing to really watch for, especially if this track remains rather consistent is models under-playing the low-level cold given that fairly strong area of high pressure in SE Canada and how cold the low-level airmass is there...looks like we'd see winds from a more NW direction in the low-levels which would reinforce the colder air. Logan11
GGEM is pretty much like the 12Z euro track UKMET is heading for Pete's fanny probably.... just west of PHL and headed up. Just FWIW ...I have no idea I have good money the euro comes se, and by a fair margin. GFS has owned the euro over the last 5 days and the gefs are a weenies dream. dryslot
If we can get this storm to start closing off/occluding a bit further south and a tad east that would completely change the scenario as it could help to reinforce some colder air..there is actually a pretty good amount of cold air in SE Canada which is where the high pressure could help out some. welcome back to the weather side.. dendrite
does it cool on the backside effectively? I have 0.50" near BUF but verbatim it's in the 30s above 32F for the first half until the sfc low gets cranking. JHW-BFD look safe though. I'm not sure how the EC 2m temps tend to verify at BUF.
