The high dewpoint thread

Damage In Tolland

Recommended Posts

As we're now into our first real muggy day of the warm season with widespread 60+ dews south of the pike..it's time to start a thread for the high dews.

My thoughts are this summer features a lot of humid, tropical days..but not a lot of high heat..So we see a lot of 82/70 type days..

Lots of water in the ground after this week..and the pattern looks like it wants to have a lot of warm sector days then a cold front only to have the warm front come back north again a day or 2 later.. I envsion that type of pattern this summer as we get after May 20th or so and beyond.

I can see a lot of folks sitting on leather couches and chairs this summer and having the chair getting up with them as they stand up..and a lot of sheets that feel like they are wet as those that don't have ac toss and turn trying to get a good nights sleep

Dude, I hope you're wrong. This is the part where every year I feel like I should relocate to Alaska from May through August. Sweat constantly running down my bald dome, and feeling like I'm wearing that heavy overcoat of humid oppression are just not my bag.

I lived in Texas from 1983-1988 and also spent many summers/vacations down there since then.

It has its perks, but you just have to get used to them. I'm a big golfer and for 3 seasons of the year, the golfing weather is great. It gets hot and brutal in the summer, but you can manage because you can actually play in the winter in comfortable weather.

For me, I couldn't live in the M.A. since it has two bad seasons there....winter and summer. Texas at least only has one bad season. Same with up here...we have one bad season and that is spring.

But in all honesty, wherever you end up, you tend to get habituated with the weather so it doesn't seem all that strange. Austin, TX is a total 180 climate from ORH, but I am not that shocked by it when I go back.
