Delaware had 40”+ last winter. Try Charleston sc

There’s decent snow cover in the southern greens above 1,000’. Though even there it’s below normal for this time of year and going fast
-
What a beautiful storm offshore.. that would be a full on blizzard in better times
-
More then likely we will see multiple large events that favor the interior and the city struggles due to the late timing. March/April 18 incoming?
-
I’m going to say this now, the futility record goes down in flames in March. As much as I would like to forget this non winter and move on to spring there are storms on the way and one if not more will produce

Binghamton has a relatively high observation point at the airport at 1600’ which helped in this cold aloft scenario as they weren’t near the core of the cold.
-
True, I think Boston -11 and mtk 0 show we just missed the core of the cold. It was directed better at southern ne

If we had a deep snow pack like in some of those years we would have gotten there. I think the Mt. Washington record shows just how intense this cold air mass was aloft
-
Raise those urban temps several degrees. Urban areas require strong CAA to get cold. And event the rural areas require winds lighter then that to maximize radiational cooling.
-
Recorded being the key word. Several mountains there see that routinely several times a year
-
That’s epic! Computer or influenced?
-
Glad I’m not the only one watching those obs. They are close to all time records. This airmass is extremely cold aloft. It just doesn’t have time or snow pack to effectively get to the surface down here

Winds are absolutely ripping right now on the uws right next to the Hudson. I’m sitting in my suv for alternate side parking and I’m rocking back and forth. Street signs are banging too. Must be a local situation with the hudson

We could easily see another month like February 15. We just need the opposite stuck pattern to this winter with a big -epo trough displaced east. It will happen again, maybe even next winter.
-
Sooooo close! enough snow on the uws that I’m currently doing snow removal. About .5”
-
Steady light snow on the uws, dusting on all Surfaces. The streak ends now

Radar looks good west of us for an area wide coating. Anything more is central Jersey, extreme south shore and east end

Number one you’re always bragging about spraying for insects… ummm you think that doesn’t effect birds… Two, the gender reveal was in Arizona
-
Would be pretty funny if philly scores and the park strikes out. Regardless, if it’s a dusting late night don’t expect that to be recorded.
-
I’m a horticulturalist not an entomologist but if insects react like plants it has to do with the lowest temperature recorded more so then the overall temp. So despite this winter being incredibly warm overall we have had some decent cold and this next shot could really do the trick.

Sleet snow mix with a dusting on colder surfaces uws
-
A few mangled flakes mixed in on the uws. Par for the course this winter
-
It would fit this winter well. The late December cold shot killed back allot of perennials that surged the last few much snowier winters. Nothing worse then super cold and wind without insulation from snow pack…

15” should be about right, we had 18” in wantagh. The furthest west part of the deform band got to about eastern queens. Had cpk not gotten 5” from a freak sound effect band before the mane precip shield it would have been a total non event.
